IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
I woke up the the sounds of crying,I got up trying to be as quietly as I could and walked over to where the sound was coming from.I peered into the room and saw Maisie crying,I walk up to the bed and pulled her into a hug trying not to wake brooklyn. She puts her head in the crook of my neck, sobbing.
I put my hand on her back and rub it in circles,trying to comfort her as much as I can.She chokes on a sob trying to keep quiet,not to wake anyone her sobs turn into quiet hiccups. When she finally calms down I look at her and she looks at me and
I ask,"What happened?"
"I had a nightmare, and it sounds really stupid because im almost 16" Maisie says
"Babes it's not stupid at all, I get them all the time" I replied putting a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Thanks" she said with a soft smile appearing on her face.
"You want me to sleep in your bedroom?"I ask consciously trying not to sound gay.She said nothing but nodded,I picked her up bridal style.
"ALEX PUT ME DOWN!!"She whisper yelled playfully
"Nevahhhhhhhhhhh" I say holding on to her tighter
"Come on,"She says, kicking her feet trying to escape my grasp. I walk to the room and sit on the edge of the bed trying not to move the bed too much to let Brooklyn sleep. I lay down in the bed, Maisie put her head on my chest and her hand next to it.
