I've been laying in bed as the doctors crowd me getting my vitals taken and stuff like that. I would be an anxious mess if Elijah wasn't sitting to my right and holding me hand. He held it gently as his thumb kept swiping across my knuckles.

After most of the doctors left I was able to get a look at Elijah looking at his phone and texting back to someone. "Who you texting?" I asked being rather nosy.

He finished typing before putting it in his suit jacket pocket. "Just confirming dinner plans I have with my younger brother and some acquaintances. He has caused a disturbance with these others brothers, so I have invited them so they can make amends. They tend to interact with the same group of people." He explained.

I nod as I looked at the last doctor leaving the room. "When's the dinner?" I ask slowly hoping it not anytime soon to where he has to leave.

He smiled over at me. This was a soft smile. "It's in a few days, don't worry I'm not leaving you anytime soon."

Just as he finished Meredith walked in with a smile. "Ok who's ready to have a baby?!" She exclaimed and looked between me and Elijah.

I squeezed Elijah's hand and looked over at him quickly. "You're coming right? Into the surgery room you're coming right?" I swear if he had super hearing and listened to my heart it would sound like he would be at a concert. That's how nervous I am.

He began to rub my hand again and smile down at me. "I'm not leaving you. If you want my face can be the last one you see before you fall asleep and the first one you see when you wake up. Is that what you want?"

I nod quickly and look to Meredith "that can work right?" I asked desperately wanting to hear her say yes.

I could see her hesitation from a mile away, which didn't help me at all. I could faintly hear the beeping of my vital machine speeding up.

Elijah stood up making me look at him with worried painted on my face. "Relax Amelia, I don't care what the doctors say, I will be with you every step of the way. Got it?"

I nod as a few doctors come in and start messing with the bed. I keep hold of Elijah's hand as we start to move. We go down 3 long halls until we move through 2 set of big double door.

I sit up more as I look around the room. It was mostly dark beside a circle of big bright light in the center of the room pointing at a table.

I look around quickly looking for Elijah as we had the let go of each others hand as we started to move so he wouldn't get in the way. "Where's Elijah? I'm not doing this witho-"

"I'm right here Amelia, you need to calm down." He finally came into view. "It's not good to get worked up right before surgery."  He grabbed my hand gently.

I sighed and squeezed his hand and looked around. I stayed silent for 4 minutes before I nodded my head signaling I was ready. I saw Elijah smile as he stood back a little bit, still holding my hand just out of the way.

2 doctors came over with supplies that looked like it was for another IV. "Woah," I pulled my arm away, letting go of Elijah's hand. "What are you doing?"

The doctors looked at me with a smile. Fake smile might I add. "We have to put another line in, your other on we can't get a flush through it so it's not an open line." They finish what they were saying and got right back to work. Rude.

I sit up straighter and keep my right arm away. "You're not using my right arm. No way in hell!" It may seem that I'm being dramatic but my right arm is way more sensitive then my left. I mean why would I only have track marks on my left arm and not my right.

Elijah has now come over to my left side and held my hand again as he looked down at me. "Amelia let the doctors do their jobs." I felt someone grab my arm tightly and hold it out straight. I try to pull my arm away but they are strong.

Elijah was distracting me. "Let me go I said no!" I screamed. I don't know how much clearer I can be. I felt Elijah push my shoulders down onto the bed, it wasn't hard but he wasn't gentle about it either.

This is getting to overwhelming. I should have never listened to Elijah. I should have left.

"Amelia calm down, it's just a small poke." Elijah spoke sternly.

I look up at him like he's crazy. "It's not a small poke! It hur- Fuck!!!" I scream as I feel the needle slide into my vein. I kick my feet out as the pain has brought immediate tears to my eyes. The pain dosent go away so I kick some more and my feet collide with the metal bar that are on the side of the bed.

After about 2 minutes the pain finally starts to subside. I lay back as my face is now wet and my arm is numb. Someone is still holding my arm, I don't blame them I would rip that shit out so fast if they let go.

Elijah was running his hand through my hair which was surprisingly calming. I relax more as I stare at my ground. The pain still lingers down my entire arm.

I don't talk after even when the doctor transfer me to the table in the middle of the room. They start to hook me up to all the machines before I see Meredith walk into view.

"Ok Amelia I want you to start to count back from 10 when I say so ok?" She asked gently.

I nod and turn my head to look for Elijah. He gets the message and walks over and hold my hand. "Your going to be ok Amelia. I promise."

I give him a small smile before I look back at the ceiling.

"Ok Amelia start counting."

"10...9...8...7" by seven I feel warmth start to spread throughout my body, I kinda forget to continue to count.

"Keep count Amelia."

I try to force my eyes open but fail. "6...5...4" I could get words out anymore as I let the darkness consume me.
