Erik continued to drag me away from the stage towards a passage to the catacombs. Once again I was consumed with mixed emotions.

Fear, anger, sadness, all of them.

"Down we go to lair of darkness and despair," He rambled to me, I can hear the anger in his voice. He quickly turned to me and harshly held my shoulders, bringing me closer to him.

"Why do I live here you ask? Why am I shunned by all and feared by all? Well now you see..." he continued muttering. I could tell he was very mad at me and the entire time I was held by him, dragged by him to his lair I couldn't help but feel guilty. He kept muttering to himself.

"Christine why? Why?" Over and over again.

His questions made me question my self the same thing. Why did I do that? Why? I don't know what came over me but now it's brought me to the dark side of the Phantom. Once again he has taken an innocent life and here he was forcing me into marriage leaving havoc above us.

We reached his lair while he brought me to a secluded room with a life-size doll wearing a beautiful and elegant wedding gown. The doll looked exactly like me and I felt slightly sick to my stomach. I had really driven him to insanity and there was proof right in front of me.

"Put this on and find me in the main room," he said harshly and slammed the door.

The dress was incredible and I had a very bittersweet feeling inside. I loved Erik, truly I did. He didn't know that of course, and I don't know how to tell him. I changed as quickly as I could and walked back out of the room to find Erik.

There he stood pacing back and forth with a veil in his hands.

"Have you gorged yourself at last for your lust for blood!? Am I now just prey to you and your lust for flesh!?" I yelled to him, he become even more frustrated and yelled in return.

"That fate which condemns me to wallow in blood, has also denied me the joys of the flesh! This face is what poisons our love! This face earned nothing but hatred and fear as it does right now!"

I turned to him and I give him a pitying look. I felt so sorry for him, and I only wish I could help him.

"Pity comes too late! Turn around and face your fate! This is the face you shall see for the rest of your days!" I shook my head and grabbed his arms.

"This haunted face causes no horror for me. It's your soul, where the distortion lies," I explain. He just shook his head and his face shows disbelief.

"Wait I think my dear we have a guest..."

I turned to the portcullis and see once again a face I had hoped would never be seen down here.

"Raoul!?" I screamed surprised. What is he doing here?

"Ah welcome sir, this is indeed an unparalleled delight. I had really hoped you could come and you have! You have truly made my night."

I couldn't believe this was happening. How had Raoul found this place, I knew Madame Giry wouldn't willing tell him and only the worst thought flooded my mind.

"Free her! You can have anything just free her!" Raoul pleaded.

"Why do you care? It's useless!" I said to him. He just gave me a smirk and laughed.

"Oh Christine, you can't possibly stay with this thing! He has deceived you, changed you, and murdered innocent people! He is a criminal!" Raoul exclaimed.

Erik simply chuckled.

"How did you find this place?" I asked him. Before he could answer a voice come up from nearby.

 "I told him."

We all faced the voice and saw none other than Madame Giry.

"Madame?" I asked. She nodded with a slight guiltiness showing.

"Giry... why?" Erik asked.

"I had to, I had no other choice. But I came down here to stop anything from happening."

"Christine," Raoul started, "You have to come with me. It is a command, not a question," he said sternly.

"No Christine, you aren't leaving. You are staying with me," Erik commanded. My mind was swirling and I didn't know what to say.

"STOP! All of you!" I shouted. Everyone look shocked for my outburst.

"Erik, you can't do this. You know this isn't right. I'm sorry for your broken soul. But you should know that I'm broken too," I stated quietly. He looked to me confused. I studied his face, all of it. I looked at his deformity and then his normal side. My eyes trailing, lastly looking to his golden eyes. He held so much emotion in them, and yet he was so difficult to read. "

What do you mean?"

"God gives me courage to show you, you are not alone," slowly I walked to him, placed my hands on his cheeks and place his lips on mine.

His innocence of a kiss I could sense because he didn't know how to react. Slowly, very slowly, he kissed me back. All of my feelings and compassion I felt for him was poured into it. I broke the kiss and looked to him. He just shook his head and looked astonished. I grabbed his face once more and kissed him harder as he kissed back with just as much fire. His shaking hands touched my own and pulled his lips from mine. A tear rolled down his face as he slowly backed away.

"Why? Why are you doing this?" He asked me, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Because...because I love you."
