Grace drives back to her and Hannah's place, letting Goose outside and going to check on her girlfriend. Hannah is in bed, asleep, and by the looks of it she managed to clean up her sick without making anymore mess. Grace gets a bucket from her laundry room and places it by Hannah's side of the bed before climbing in with her. She wraps her arms around Hannah and kisses her temple. Hannah snuggles closer to Grace.
"Hi." Hannah whispers hoarsely.
"Hey there. How are you feeling?" Grace replies. Hannah shrugs.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Grace's head shoots up. Oh god, she thinks. Who is here and why? She stands slowly and makes her way out of the bedroom, shutting the door tightly behind her. She goes to the door and opens it to find Mamrie standing there.
"Hello!" Mamrie says cheerily. Too cheerily. She's up to something.
"Um hi?" Grace laughs awkwardly. "What's up?"
"Nothing, just thought I'd drop by to see how filming was going." Mamrie remarks. Grace forces a smile.
"I haven't started actually I had to clean up a little first." Grace answers. This is probably the most awkward encounter she's ever had with Mamrie.
"Ah, I see." Mamrie mumbles.
"How is Hannah doing, has she checked in with you at all?" Grace asks, biting her lip to keep a giggle back. She knows Mamrie suspects she's dating someone, but there is no way in hell Mamrie would know it was Hannah. Especially not with questions like these.
"She hasn't texted me in a while. I hope she's okay." Mamrie admits. "Should we drop by her house or something?" Grace's heart beats a little faster.
"Uh, I don't know. She might be staying at her mystery girlfriend's." Grace says. Mamrie nods in agreement.
"So, Smellbig, can I ask you a question?" Mamrie muses.
"Of course." Grace agrees.
"Are you and Chester like..." Mamrie asks, motioning a dirty gesture with her hands. Grace can't help it, she lets out a huge laugh.
"Oh god no Mames! I mean I can tell he likes me, but no." She sputters through peals of laughter.
"Do you like him back?" Mamrie continues. Grace's laughs die down as she shrugs.
"He's not really my type."
"You say that about every guy I point out to you."
"Well none of the guys you point out are my type then."
"What is your type? Women?" Mamrie jokes.
"No!" Grace spits out angrily. Mamrie's eyes drop to the floor.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. It was just a joke." Mamrie assures Grace. Grace just nods. "I think I'm going to head home, maybe call Hannah and check in. I'll text you to let you know how she's doing." Grace nods again. Mamrie leaves and Grace heads back to her bedroom. Hannah is awake and sitting upright.
"What was that about?" She asks, a bitter edge to her voice.
"What?" Grace mutters defensively.
"The whole no about liking girls. That's bullshit and you know it!" Grace doesn't answer. She leaves the bedroom and slams the door behind her. She sits on the couch, her legs pulled up to her chest, trying desperately not to cry. And she stays like that for an hour. Then Hannah comes stumbling out of their bedroom, a big Dressed To Repress sweatshirt on and a sad look on her face.
"Hi." Grace whispers as Hannah sits down. Hannah pulls Grace into a hug.
"I'm sorry baby." She murmurs. "I know your sexuality is confusing right now and I respect that. I just wish I could brag about having such an amazing girlfriend." Grace blushes.
"I love you Hannah." She whispers.
"I love you too Gracie."
