By the time Grace wakes up the next morning, Hannah has already made a pot of coffee. Grace walks out to the kitchen, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the house. She looks at Hannah, who hasn't noticed her yet, and her heart sinks. Grace just sits at the kitchen table, silent. Hannah finishes pouring the mug of coffee she was pouring and turns around, noticing Grace.
"Hey there." Hannah says softly.
"Hi." Grace replies. Hannah comes and sets the mug in front of Grace and goes to pour herself another.
"Let's talk." Hannah suggests, sitting across from Grace and sipping her coffee.
"I'm sorry." Grace whispers. She pours a bit of coffee in her mouth and it scalds her throat but she doesn't mind.
"Grace don't-" Hannah starts, but Grace continues on.
"No I obviously should've done something more to stop things and I didn't and I've upset you. And I'm sorry. I never wanted to upset you Hannah, you know that." She says.
"I overreacted." Hannah admits quietly. "I know you better than to think you would do something like that. I just love you so much, and I'm so fucking scared you'll leave me."
"I won't leave unless you ask me to Hannah." Grace murmurs. Hannah lets out a breath, her hand going to take Grace's.
"Can we kiss and make up? And then I can cuddle the fuck out of you?" Hannah suggests. Grace leans over and presses a chaste kiss on Hannah's lips.
"Of course." The pair goes to their couch and lies down. Hannah's arms go carefully around Grace's body, pulling her close and holding her tightly. Grace buries her face into Hannah's chest, inhaling her scent and instantly feeling calmer.
"I missed you last night." Hannah admits, resting her cheek on the top of Grace's head. "I couldn't sleep."
"Me neither." Grace says. "I need you with me." They soon hear the jingling on Goose's collar. The dog comes over and nudges Hannah's hand with her snout, letting a low howl out.
"I think Goose needs a walk." Hannah says with a laugh. Grace turns and looks at the dog, giggling a little.
"You can't handle it when the attention isn't on you, can you wiggle butt? You're so demanding." Grace laughs. Goose barks as if to say You're damn right. "Would you mind if I sneak away to walk her?" Grace asks.
"I'll come with! It's a nice day." Hannah answers, going to put her shoes on. Grace smiles, getting up and grabbing Goose's leash. She hooks it onto the dog's collar and the pair goes outside, turning the corner from the house and making their way along the sidewalk.
"Thank you for putting up with me for so long." Grace states, glancing at Hannah and biting back a smile. Hannah feels a blush creep into her cheeks.
"I think you're the one putting up with me." Hannah counters. Grace shakes her head.
"No no. You put up with the constant filming for Fridiary, my insane and demanding princess of a dog, and the fact I'm still technically in the closet. So you do put up with me." Grace argues playfully.
"That's all nothing compared to getting to kiss and hug you everyday." Hannah says, kissing Grace's cheek.
"You know I'm thinking about coming out in my Wednesday video." Grace mentions, stopping to let Goose sniff something she's found on the ground.
"Really?" Hannah asks, shocked.
"Yeah well, they already know I'm not straight, why not explain myself a little." Grace explains.
"Yeah I get that. You'll be a really good role model for all the younger teens who watch you. They'll really identify with your struggles of acceptance and stuff." Hannah tells Grace. "I'm really proud of you."
"Thanks babe. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you."
