"I'm your mate? So... are you saying.... we're mates?"

"What? Are you happy that we're mates?"

"..............."

"Uh, come on~ why are you being so pathetic? You know that rejection is only complete when we both agree, right? Do you know how long I've been waiting for your birthday?!"

On his 18th birthday, Jimin was rejected by his mate like that. 

From his mate, his girlfriend, whom he has been dating for over a year. 

They had never hoped for a fate mate, but as if fate wanted to prove itself, Jimin and his girlfriend Nayeon fell in love with each other at first sight. Nayeon was a beautiful and talented omega. Jimin liked Nayeon, who was cheerful and always energetic. Nayeon also liked Jimin a lot because of his cute and caring personality. 

Jimin, who had been in relationships several times before, was never really serious about dating anyone. And Jimin had never dated anyone for more than six months. Nevertheless, Jimin was quite happy while dating Nayeon for over a year. But on his 18th birthday, something unexpected happened. That is, Nayeon, who came to wish him a happy birthday, asked him to reject her as a mate. 

Then, Jimin could tell that Nayeon had already found out that they were mates on her birthday, which was a month before his own. He liked Nayeon, but it wasn't impossible for him to accept the breakup. But Rejection?!  Jimin couldn't hide his bewilderments.

Nayeon said that although she liked Jimin, she didn't like that he would become the next pack leader. She said she wanted to live to fulfill her own dreams rather than being the Luna of the pack who had to take care of their people. So, She asked Jimin for rejection. Although rejection was a frequent occurrence and was nothing unusual these days, they still had to deal with the physical pain caused by rejection. 

In that sense, can it say that it might be lucky if they haven't found a mate. Then there will be no rejection either...

After a while, Nayeon left the pack to live in the city, and Jimin's only long relationship came to an end... and, it was none other than Jungkook who stayed by his side when he was struggling in pain.

"I didn't expect you to come see our Tae at this hour."

Jimin came to his senses when he suddenly heard Jin's voice. The memories of the past that came to mind for a long time made him bitter, but Jimin kept a bright smile at Jin.

"And... you still remembered that he likes strawberry shortcake..."

A beautiful smile appeared on Jin's face as he approached Jimin, holding a plate of strawberry cake that Jimin had bought for Taehyung. The pink cake looked even more refreshing and delicious under the clear sky and green grass.

Jimin smiled in return. How could he forget? Taehyung was his first love. Jimin couldn't remember exactly when he first met Taehyung, but he vaguely remembered the feeling he had when he first saw him. That day, Taehyung was eating strawberry shortcake. Jimin huffed involuntarily as he remembered that, at that moment, he wanted to lick off the pink cream  which was on all over Taehyung's lips. Wow, how can he be so lewd? From his recollection, they were less than 10 years old at the time, and as shame washed over him, Jimin lowered his head slightly and turned away from Jin's gaze.

"I'm serious, Jimin. You will definitely become a good leader in the future."

"Hey, Jin Hyung, don't embarrass me too much. It took me courage to come here. Don't make me run away before I even meet him~"
