The first thing I remember about heaven is being blinded by a white radiant light and then the pull of gravity as my feet hit the ground for the very first time. I open my eyes and see a cheerful face staring back at me.

She comes up with outstretched arms and a gentle smile. She says "Welcome to heaven! You're a new angel spawned of glory and righteousness, we are so happy to have you".

I'm a bit overwhelmed by the hospitality but I just awkwardly smile and say "happy to be here".

The angel just laughs and says "My name is Nora and I will be showing you around heaven before you find your purpose tomorrow".

I gaze up at Nora with a confused look and ask "My purpose?"

She smiles and says "Well yes, all of heaven's born angels must be assigned their purpose. It's a job they must fulfill to better heaven and its souls."

I have no idea what she is talking about or even what's happening so ask more questions. I ask "So how long does it take to decide my purpose?"

Nora answers "Not long, your ceremony will be tomorrow morning in the garden of Eden. Then after you will take your full angelic form and receive your holy name".

I open my mouth to say something else but my mind is already overwhelmed and I don't even know what else to say at this point.

Nora must sense my confusion and she says "Don't worry dear sister. We've all been where you are, you'll get through it, I promise".

Her word of encouragement makes me feel a bout better but I still have a lot to learn.

Nora then shows me around heaven and I even get to meet some of its residents. They were all really sweet and very eager to meet me since it's very rare when heaven births a new angel in this day of age.

After, Nora and me walk by a peaceful shore line and my mind has had time to come up with new questions. I ask "So what are the different purposes I could have?"

Nora says "Well there are council angels who help make decisions to help better heaven and its safety. Then there's warrior angels the protect heaven on the front lines. Lastly there are guardian angels who are sent down to earth and help individual souls who need extra guidance in life".

The jobs sound really complex and I have no idea which one I would fit into. I ask "What do you think I'll be?"

Nora smiles and says "I'm not sure but whatever the Seraphim chooses will be the best fit for you".

I'm baffled on how a complete stranger can already know me, I mean, I don't even know who I am but, if I've learned anything yet its that faith is a big thing here and I must have faith as well. I say "yeah I hope so. What type of angel are you?"

Nora perks up at the question and answers "I'm a council angel".

For some reason I'm not at all surprised at all by her answer. I don't think I've met another council angel yet but looking at Nora's perfectly cut Auburn hair and her sharp face, she just looks like she fits the part perfectly from the day she opened her eyes.

Then I stare at my refection in the water but, when I look at my own face I can't tell who I'm meant to be. The waves ripple and my reflection melts away, then I ask Nora "Do you enjoy your purpose?"

She thinks about for a moment and lets out a little sigh and then a giggle. She says "Well of course I do, it's my purpose after all but, I must admit it can be stressful sometimes but, it's worth it".
