In the night the group stay for another camp fire they were just resting.
Nav and Reiner was a sleep as Meave was cleaning axels wound with cloth and hot water.
"This might sting a bit." She said as she gently dabs the cloth on axels arm. He tried to not make a single sound of pain as she continued. She finished cleaning his wound then used used par of her uniform and ripped the sleeve off and wrapped it around him.
"You are good" he said watching her wrap his arm. "How do you know this?"
"My reiners husband. he was a doctor and taught me medical stuff as well as medical survival. He was a good man. Reiner was lucky to have him." Ahe finsihed bandaging him. "There you go, good as new"
Axel looks at his arm and smiled. "Thank you. I fe-AGH!" He groans in pain.
"Yeah pain doesn't go away that easily" she said. Looking at him "I should be the one thanking you. You and nave are either the bravest apes we've ever seen or the craziest"
"We just are." He chucked "why is it whenever something happens, we get attacked?"
"You were trying to protect us, from the very beginning you did what you believed is right. You have a good heart."
Axel blushed at her word when he gently took her hand with his uninjured arm in put it to his chest where his heart is.
"My heart... has its reasons to be good"
Maeve blushed at his words and looked at her hand axel's holding. Then looked into his eyes.
Maeve puts her head on his shoulder. Axel was tense at first but puts his arm around her and watched the fire.
Meave moved her head and kissed his cheek. Axel was shocked the fact that she did that. He looks in her eyes and she looked into his.
Without hesitation they both pressed their lips onto each other as they kept on kissing for a while before falling asleep.
