In the night the trio sit by the fire thinking about Reiner's sacrifice to save them. They all were sad to see him gone.

"Good journey" Axel said.

"Good journey old friend" Maeve said.

"Good journey" nav said.

Maeve and Axel looked at each other making sure they were okay.

Another day came and everyone was getting ready to leave.

Axel stands "We better get going we don't know who might follow us"

"You are right on that" a familiar voice said. They turned to see Levi there.

"How are you not dead?" Nav groans.

"It... wasn't big enough to crush me..." he took out his spear "to the death" he was about to charge.

Maeve knew she has to stop this she runs  in front of the apes "No" Maeve shouts making Levi stop little did they know she had a plan. "to the pain."

Levi looks at her in confusion "I'm not... familiar with that"

"I'll explain. And I'll use small words so that you'll be sure to understand you scarfaced bloody-baboon" she said.

Levi knew that was an insult "that.. is that first time.... A human insulted me."

"It won't be the last" she continues "To the pain means this: if we duel and you win, death for me. If we duel and I win, life for you. But life on my terms. The first thing you lose will be your feet. Below the ankle. You will have stumps available to use within six months. Then your hands, at the wrists. They heal somewhat quicker. Five months is a fair average. Next your nose. No smell of dawn for you. Followed by your tongue. Deeply cut away. Not even a stump left. And then your left eye followed by your right"

"Then I guess my ears shall we get on with it"Levi said.

Wrong!" Maeve's voice rang across the distance. "Your ears you keep, and I'll tell you why. so that every shriek of every child shall be yours to cherish—every babe that weeps in fear at your approach, every woman that cries 'Dear God, what is that thing?' will echo perfect ears. That is what 'to the pain means.It means I leave you in anguish,wallowing in freakish misery forever." She Finnishes.

Everyone was shocked on her words. Levi on the other hand was not having it.

"You bluff" Levi said.

"It's possible monkey. I might be bluffing It's conceivable, you miserable, vomitous mass, I'm only standing here because I'm unarmed and not strong enough to go against an ape... then again... perhaps I'm stronger than I know and perhaps I'm not unarmed." She pulls out something from her back pocket revealing a gun and pointed it at Levi who was close to her. "Drop. Your. Spear." Levi did what she tells him. "Go to the rock." She orders as he die "tie him up" she said to Axel and nave  grabs a giant rope and ties him.

"He'll find us once he gets out." Nav said.

"No he won't" Maeve spoke " whatever happen to us,I want him to live a long life, alone with his cowardice. If he does find us. He'll find out what I'll do. He should be lucky I'm not a killer"

She walks to the horses and Axel and nav follows them. They walk the horses from a distance leaving Levi alone in the rocks.

Axel gets on a horse as nav stand there as Maeve stands beside him "you know...this is strange" nav spoke. "We have been through an adventure... I do not know what to tell the young in the future.."

Maeve smiles "tell them the truth. Tell the story of an adventure of two apes on a journey with two talking humans and hope to make sure the story goes on forever. I hear you make a wonderful story teller"

Nav gave some thought and nods and smiles as they get on horses and rode away to freedom.

as tthe journey goes on, Axel, Maeve and nav knew they were safe. They stayed in ape village that welcomed a talking human with open arms.

Nav has been telling stories of his journey and talked about Maeve's kind heart and reiners bravery and sacrifice.

Axel and mace stayed with Each other watching the sunrise. When they looked at each other.

"Is this what you imagined?" Maeve asked him.

Axel smiled "it is better?"

Since their journey there have been two kisses. That was rated the most passionate, the most pure. But the third one left them all behind.

They both fell in love on the journey and continued to love and have three children together.

Nav also marries and has a a son and named him. Reiner.
