Harry.
Five years.
Five years have passed since I married the love of my life.
Six years have passed since I gained my own little family.
Seven years of absolute bliss within us all.
Time passes slowly with every minute, but from one blink to the next, years pass, and things change.
With time, little seeds become blooms that take over grass fields, scattering through them with their beautiful nature. A pretty flower grows to stand tall, letting bees and birds suckle from its nectar, pollinating it from one to the next. Sweet honey emerges, tasting it on our lips and sharing it with the ones we love.
But then, just as months continues to pass, the vivid hues of gold and red that hang from the trees fade. Petals begin to weaken and fall, and those delightful blooms become no more, falling to the ground and eventually hiding underneath a blanket of crystalline snow.
Seasons exist, and with one comes another, all to begin again.
It truly is the circle of life.
And that's what happens with us, whether in the universe, the tiny creatures on the land of the green, or behind the door of a home filled with lots of love.
There can be little arguments and disagreements along the way between two who have strong feelings, but I've learned that anything can be solved with one powerful word. If it's true and honest, nothing could ever top its power.
It was the one thing that held affection and emotion, strength and courage, and so much more. It carries them and more in a simply complex, four-letter word. It's a word that I say out loud at least three times a day — with breakfast, lunch, and dinner — whether it be to the one who holds my heart, to the little one we cherish most, or to anyone in our families.
And each time, it's reciprocated right back to me.
Sometimes, it isn't even verbal. Sometimes, when I head to the office, I'll have meals delivered with a note signed by my favourite woman who took my surname and a stain of a kiss from her lipstick. Or, possibly, when when it comes to forgetting to stop by the pharmacy, I'd get handed my allergy medication with a jotted paper of how I could possibly forget the night before. I'd get a little sneezy, but that's how she usually finds out.
At times, I'd leave a sticky note on the box of her preferred tea, telling her how much I missed her before leaving the house. Or occasionally, I'd give her a forehead kiss if she was still asleep.
The love was still as strong as ever.
There were unfortunate cases in which the thought of divorce lingered in the air from those around us. Thankfully, it wasn't with those that we knew closely.
