4. First day at work

Karan's pov

I wore formals as usual and went down to have break fast. I wished my parents and took their blessings.

Today is Ms. Ridhima Singh's first day at work. I hope she does not disappoint me.

"Beta Karan does Ridhima have a family?" My mother asked me.

I choked on my food and my father gave me water. Now where did this come from.

"Why do you want to know this suddenly maa?" I asked recovering from chocking.

"I was just worried as she has no parents. Is there someone to take care of her? But why did you react that way?" My mother asked suspiciously.

"Nothing ma you asked it all of a sudden that's why. And no she doesn't have a family" I said.

"Whatttt!! That means she lives all alone with no one on her side. Poor girl" my mother said sadly.

"Heyy meri Mamta se bhari pyaari maa, she lives with two of her best friends who are elder than her and treat her like a sister." I replied calming my mother down.

(Heyy my sweet mother filled with motherly love.)

"Ohh thank god. How do you know all these personal details?" She asked.

"Are you stalking her beta?" my father asked curiously.

"Kuch bhi papa, she herself told it to me." I shook my head.

(Not at all.)

"Aap bhi kya kuch bhi bolte ho yaar. Apka hi beta hai kyu karega stalk kisi ko." my mother said in disbelief.

(You talk nonsense all the time. Why would your own son stalk someone.)

"Just joking yaar. U guys don't understand jokes." my father shook his head.

I had my breakfast and went to office. I hope she is on time. I can tolerate anything but late comers.

I got out of my car and saw that she too had just reached. I looked at her and smiled.

She smiled back and came towards me. The women my family has not once met is their discussion since yesterday.

She looks soo beautiful and neatly dressed. She was wearing traditional yesterday and now wearing western.

She looks good in both. She is punctual too. Hmm seems my type.

"Good morning sir." she wished me with a smile.

"Good morning Ms. Singh." I wished her back.

We both went inside the company and into my cabin.

I sat on my chair. And she started observing my office. Cute

"Welcome Ridhima it's your first day here."

"Thank you sir." she said.

"I am impressed that you are on time, good. The cabin beside my cabin is your office." I showed her her cabin.

"Okay sir"

She nodded. She kept her things on the desk and returned to my cabin.

"You have to check all my files,meetings and schedule. I need a coffee at 10:30 am and at 6:30 pm."

"About lunch, do not worry about my lunch. If you want you can have lunch with me or at canteen. It's your wish. Clear?" I explained everything to her.

Ridhima's pov

I noted each and everything he told me in mind. I nodded and said yes sir.

"Sir your schedule for today." I showed him his schedule and explained him everything.

He then gave me many files and told me to find an error in them. He gave me two days time to complete it.

"All the best Ridhima." he told with a smile. Oh I could do anything for you sir.

"Thank you sir" I said and went to my cabin. I took Ganesh Ji's name and started the work.

After working for some time I saw that it was sir's coffee time. I went to the canteen and placed an order.

I wonder how these rich people drink black coffee. Not judging them but how do you manage to drink this poison.

I took the coffee and knocked on his cabin.

"Come in." I went inside and saw him engrossed in work.

"Sir your coffee." I kept the coffee on his desk.

"Thank you Ridhima." he said looking at the laptop.

"Your welcome sir." I said and went to my cabin.

I worked for some more time until my back started aching. I am not used to sitting for soo long.

I used to do that before exams and for painting ,that habit is long gone. I want to roam around and take some fresh air.

But I don't know if I should take sir's permission or not. I went near his cabin.

But thought of continuing the work. What if he scolds me for taking a break.

"What happened Ridhima?" I flinched due to the sudden voice.

"Nothing sir actually I wanted to take a break so I came to ask your permission." I said a little hesitantly.

"Why are you so scared. Don't worry you don't need my permission to take a break." he said while smiling.

"Okay sir." I replied.

"The lunch is at 2:30 btw. Sorry I forgot to inform you before." He said.

"It's okay sir. I will be back before lunch." I replied.
