"Bye, Y/N!" My co-worker, Annabelle, shouts.
"Bye, Annabelle!" I yell back.
I leave work and get into my car to head home.

I get on the highway and I'm jamming out to some music.
My focus turns to a car that slams on its breaks. The car behind it, breaks but also swerves over a hill.
"Shit." I whisper.
I make my way to the shoulder as fast as I can, put my hazards on, dial 9-1-1 and run toward the accident.
"911, what is your emergency?" The operator asks.
"I just saw an accident on Highway 5, I pulled over and it looks bad. Please hurry." I say.
"Alright, it looks like you are the second person who's called. Police, fire and paramedics have been dispatched and they should arrive in 6 minutes. Please keep a safe distance from the vehicle." She states.
Cars keep driving by, even the car that did the break check. I look over the hill to see the car is in shambles.
I roll my eyes, hang up my phone and start making my way toward the car.
Keep a safe distance my ass.
After slipping a few times, I make my way to the driver, who is conscious but really beat up.
"Are you both okay?" I ask.
The driver looks up at me.
"I think I'm okay but my brother hit his head, and isn't conscious." He says.
"Okay, let me help." I say.
He looks me in the eyes and says, "Help him first. Please."
I nod, "What are your names?" I ask.
"I'm Matt and my brother's name is Chris." He says softly.
I carefully make my way to the passenger side and open the door.
I check to make sure he's not stuck and undo his seatbelt carefully.
He falls forward but I hold him up as he starts to wake up.
"What happened?" He whispers.
"It's okay, Chris. Let me get you back to the road." I say.
I wrap his arm around my shoulder and mine around his torso and I somehow make it up to the road.
I set him down carefully and he holds his head.
I lean down so I'm eye level with him and make him look at me.
"Stay here." I say, sternly.
He nods his head and I make my way back down to Matt.
He's gotten his seatbelt off but his foot is stuck.
"Do you have a crowbar?" I ask.
"In the back." He says.
I go to the back and grab the crowbar.
"This might hurt." I say.
He nods his head and I stick the crowbar between his foot and the dash, that is crushing it. I start to push the dash back.
"Shit!" He yells.
"It's okay. I've almost got it." I say, pushing harder.
He pulls his foot out and makes his way out of the car.
I wrap my arm around his waist and he wraps his around my shoulder as I carefully get him up the hill to Chris.
I set Matt down next to Chris and sit down myself.
"Thank you." They say in unison.
I nod my head and hear the sirens.
I look up to see 2 police cars, a fire truck and an ambulance.
"Thank god." I whisper.

Almost on cue, the car explodes, causing me to jump back and look at the horror.
"Oh my god." Matt says.
Jesus Christ.
If I would have waited for help, they could be dead.
I look over at my car to see a police officer pulled behind it and the other police car, fire truck and paramedics pull over to where we are sitting.
"Are you all okay?" A police officer asks.
We nod our heads.
I stand up and grab Chris' hand. He is weak and unable to move much so I help him to the ambulance while the officer helps Matt.
"Young lady, is that your car?" I hear someone say.
I carefully help Chris to a paramedic and turn around.
"Yes sir. I saw the entire thing and pulled over to help." I say.
The officer pulls me away from the boys as he begins to take my statement.
