As the sun started to set, a golden glow was cast upon the Hidden Leaf. The merciless snow started to melt, creating dozens of puddles and mud all over the streets. Winter was ending, and Sasuke found himself looking forward to spring.

After he took Sakura to see the memorial he had set up, the Uchiha felt restless. The connection they had shared was so unfamiliar, but he craved more. It's been so long since someone has shown him love and care just as she did, and he only wanted it to come from her. Forever.

"Sakura?" the ravenhead asked as he knocked on her door lightly, being invited in by a soft hum from inside the room. When he walked inside, he was greeted by a smiling Sakura who was sprawled out on the bed with the book 'Medical Ninjutsu III' in her hands.

"Yes, Sasuke-kun? Are you going to sleep?" the pinkette asked sweetly, a small blush tinting her cheeks as she put the huge book aside. She sat up and scooted over on the edge of her bed, patting the spot beside her as if sensing he had something to say.

The Uchiha looked her up and down slowly, carefully sitting down beside her while he felt the mattress beneath him dent in slightly. Sakura was wearing her usual white nightgown, causing Sasuke to mistake her for an angel each time he laid his onxy eyes on her figure.

"I...," he started lowly, his hand on his knee as he tapped it anxiously, "I'm leaving in two days." Sakura felt her heart drop. A light chuckle was heard from her, causing Sasuke to lift his head in confusion. But when he saw her smile, he immediately knew it was a false one.

"L-leave, Sasuke-kun? Are you... seeing Naruto... or maybe Lord Sixth... Ah, there's also Shikamaru. But no, you're not really friends with him. Maybe... m-maybe...," the pinkette trailed off, her shaky voice started to genuinely tremble as tears started to well up in her eyes.

Sasuke bit his lip, his heart clenching at the sight of her trying to find an excuse even though she knew exactly what he meant. He let out a quiet sigh, placing his cool hand on her warm one.

Sakura's timid hiccups stopped and the blush on her cheeks grew a bit deeper as she looked up at Sasuke with her teary, emerald eyes. "Sakura...," he murmured hoarsely, his onyx eyes never leaving her red-rimmed ones. Her name seemed to roll off his tongue effortlessly.

"I want you to come with me."

The pinkette felt like her heart was about to explode once she realised what he had said. She didn't even notice that he had leaned in, the tip of his nose almost touching hers as they stared into eachother's eyes intently; soft, onyx ones and wide, jade ones.

Sasuke was ready to do anything, anything that would keep her happy. He figured that he needed to break down all the walls around him, but only for her. He wanted to step out of his comfort zone, only for her. Smile, only for her.

And love, only her.

"S-Sasuke-kun... You want me to come with you?" Sakura merely whispered, her warm breath fanning his lips as she didn't move a muscle. A small smile formed on the Uchiha's face as he nodded slowly, his nose brushing hers. It was a smile only she would ever see.

"I did promise you," he replied softly, his voice barely above a whisper as a light blush returned to his pale cheeks again.

Their hearts seemed to beat in unison, threatening to break free from the ribcages which were holding them captive and apart from eachother.

Sakura hesitantly intertwined her fingers with his over her thigh, both of their soft palms sweaty. The Uchiha felt a shiver run down his spine, his dark eyes looking at her full lips for a split second before meeting her emerald orbs once more.
