The morning sun woke me up, slightly weaker and dimmer now that summer was close to an end. I yawned and stretched my arms, opening my eyes properly to see the nightmare my room had become. Popcorn was everywhere, chip bags formed a mountain beside the trash bin.
"What the fuckkk" I stressed at the mess.
I looked around my room and noticed Julia was missing. I got up my bed only for me to step on a puddle of coke,
"Were we drunk or something?" I said to myself unable to remember the events of the previous night, I walked towards Angelica and tapped her to wake her up, but she was still asleep, like a bear in hibernation.
"You up?" Julia's voice startled me.
"Jesus!" Shock evident through my voice.
"Don't do that!" I said facing Julia who stood at the entrance of my door.
"You look terrific" she said sarcastically and a chuckle followed.
I turned to the mirror close to me and a gasp escaped my lips. My hair was twisted and braided roughly, red lip stick smeared on my face, and my FACE! It looked like a three year old attempted to draw an elephant with their left hand.
"You must have done this!" I exclaimed and turned to face Julia whose chuckle had turned a loud laugh.
"Hey, don't blame me!" She barely said through her laugh.
I rolled my eyes at her childishness and asked,
"Have you see my mom?"
"Oh Yea, thanks for reminding me, breakfast is ready." She said about to walk away
"Don't go yet! Help me wake this monster!" I said pointing at Angelica.
After what felt like ages Angelica finally woke up.
"Ahh.. Sleeping beauty finally woke up!" Julia exaggerated.
"What do you guys wanttt?" Angelica stressed and squinted her eyes.
"Get your lazy ass up, breakfast is ready."
Julia said and walked out the room.
I followed and made my way downstairs.
"Good Morning mom." I greeted.
"Good morning*Teni*!" She said and moved to kiss my cheek.
"Ehn..Where is Angelica?" She asked
"Probably went back to sleeping like a pig." I said with a shrug.
"Sleeping at this time of the day?" Mom asked, her Nigerian accent really noticeable, something I found funny in a way.
"I will go wake her." She said and made her way up the stairs "Be sure to check the eggs and set the table." She added and continued walking up the stairs.
"Teniola Demilade. What happened yesterday night?!" She shouted and brought out a horrific sight. Julia and I couldn't help but burst out laughing at how Angelica looked, from her half awake and half asleep expression, to her hair that was also braided into messy and rough braids but from her face all the way to her socks, had scribbles on them and on the middle of her pink pajamas written in a messy hand writing.. 'REAL HOT GIRL SHIT'
Noticing the words written on the shirt made me laugh even more.
"Why are you both laughing? Demilade look at yours, it is only Julia that behaves maturely amongst the three you. Once you two are done eating go and change." She ended and went to the kitchen
After breakfast was over we three went back to my room,
"So the party starts by 6, we'll go 8."
"Should we go out and kill time?" Julia asked
"Honestly I just wanna stay in bed, also what happened last night?" Angelica asked looking through my room.
"No one remembers! That's the Shity part but it was definitely wild." Julia said and laid on the bed.
"Get up you guys let's clean my room a little before the maids get here." I told them both
"Ugh, fine." Angelica said dramatically.
I looked round my room and smiled with satisfaction while Angelica looked like a mess,
"We really did kill time." Julia said looking at her phone.
"Really what time is it?"
"5:30"
"Was the room that bad?" I asked myself.
"Let's go get something to eat!" her loud voice echoed through the halls.
"Why not? I am sorta hungry." I said and grabbed my keys.
Immediately you walk into Dunkers, the sent of coffee and milkshakes collides in your nose, salivation is next to come.
"Why does everything here smell so good?" I asked myself and walked to the line while Julia and Angelica sat on a table.
"Next!" The cashier called.
"Your order please." She added.
"Can I get tree mango tides and a dozen of your cherry filled donuts."
"To go?"
"Yep"
"That'll be ten dollars, cash or card?"
"Cash." I replied and handed two five dollar bills.
"It'll be ready in Five minutes time." The cashier replied with a smile.
I walked to where Julia and Angelica sat and joined in on their conversation.
"The guy was such a bitch though." I said to Angelica.
"Exactly, acting tough and all I'm glad Caleb came by." Angelica said, her cheeks becoming red.
"It's so weird how you're the only one in a serious relationship." I said but regretted my words immediately I heard a sigh from Julia with her face in her palm she looked up at us when we stopped talking.
"What's wrong? Come on you guys I've moved on!" She said to Angelica and I, like she read our thoughts.
My conscience cleared and Angelica and I continued our conversation.
