I sat on a table by the corners at Ally's restaurant, with an expresso on the table waiting for Angelica. As my thought begin to trail off, a soft voice spoke.
"Hey," Angelica said with a soft smile.
"Hey you, what's up? You alright?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Biggs is stable now so I feel better now.""That's good, so what's up?"
"Jules, I love you, that's why I gotta tell you this." She paused and inhaled dramatically.
"And what's that?""Alex is back in town, and you've gotta stay away from him. Since this is his last year, you've just gotta ignore him and his name for the rest of the school year, okay? The things I heard he did in Chicago, aren't exactly innocent and I don't want you getting hurt by him again, not after what he did to you." Looking straight at me she asked, "You're over him now.. right?"
I looked at her, my breath slightly heavy-I knew within my heart longed for Alex's hugs once more- "Yea.. yeah." "Definitely, thanks for letting me know Angie," I said and plastered another lie unto my face.
This school year was going to be terrible.

"So, I've decided that even though Demi is at the other end of the freaking planet. We've still gotta have fun!" I yelled as we walked to Angelica's car."I still can't believe you sold your car," she said and started the engine.
"Well.." I shrugged "It was starting to become a handful so I don't really miss it."
"So, where do you wanna go today madame?" She asked driving out of the parking lot.
"Ahhh..nowhere. I've got a shit load of homework and I've got take of some other stuff."
"Come on you said we gotta have fun," Angelica said pouting her lips.
I chuckled, "let me rephrase that then just not today.""You heard from Demi yet?" She asked.
"Nope, not yet. Texted her a couple of days ago asking her about the trip but no replies."
"I did too, I also called her, I wonder what's up with her."
"I'm sure she's fine. She's probably just getting used to the new town and all, let's give her time." I said hoping to clear out any thoughts that Demi had forgotten us from Angelica's mind.
"How's Caleb? You haven't really been talking about like usual, what's up?" I asked worried the two had broken up again. This would have been the fifth time since Sumer break."Caleb..is okay I'm guessing," She replies with a shrug.
"You're guessing? What's wrong with you both?" I asked.
"Nothing, we've just been really distance lately. And he says it's cause of band practice and football practice," she replied plainly.
With genuine relief, I said, "Oh, at least it's not another breakup. I don't know how I'll control you during your breakdown after the breakup without Demi."
"I do not have breakdowns, and when I do they weren't about Caleb," she replied in a matter of fact way.
"Also, why would your teachers give you homework on the first freaking day?!" She scowled.
"I mean.. I'm not really complaining."
"I know you won't complain! You're too much of a people person to, but that's just so unfair!" She said pulling into my driveway.
"Text me when you're home cutie!" I said getting out of her car. "Oh! And send a video of Biggs!" I said as she reversed out of my drive way.
"Got it!" She yelled back with a warm smile.
I walked upstairs, and crashed on my bed. Why was everything about this day so frustrating?
I stared at the ceiling of my room, the afternoon sun slightly dimmer. I let out a sigh and closed my eyes. I had no homework, I had nothing to do but sit and think. Stupidly my head didn't try to think of a solution to my crisis rather memories like images started to flash by. From the moment Alex bummed into me on his first day, to when he said the corniest pickup line to ask me out on a date. Another image of when he sang a song and asked me to be his girlfriend. Then the memory of how he broke my heart, he was the reason I didn't listen to love songs anymore, the reason I vomited every time I had his favorite foods and drinks.
Why was he doing this to me? Making me suffer because I gave him my heart.I turned to look at the screen of my phone. Mom was late but I was already used to it. I unlocked my phone to send her a "get home safe" message, and turned my phone back off. I sighed heavily and opened it again to text Alex.
Me: Hey. Can we talk?
Alex: Definitely, where?
Me: The park close to my street.
Alex: Be there by 10.I took in a deep breath wishing I took that back, I didn't wanna see him or talk to him. I just wanted to keep my distance and finally clear my head. Everything had become so complicated ever since I saw him at the party.
Looking from the distance there he was. With his shorts and sweat shirts, slight deja vu hit as I realized that we were standing on sand and he had that same expression on his face that I couldn't quite describe.
I looked at him, unsure of what to say. I cleared my throat and started talking.
"Thanks for coming.""I mean this is the first time you've asked to meet since..the em stuff. So it's fine." He replied with a half smile. "So what's up?"
"What you did today.. let it be the last."
"What I did today? What do you mean?"
"This thing, where you play with my feelings and make me feel stupid. Where you suddenly start acting like you and I on good terms like were best buddies or something."
"I'm sorry I'm making you feel that way but," he paused and moved closer and I step back. "Julia come on.." he said and let out a short sigh.
"Why're you doing this?" I said irritation much more evident than curiosity.
"I'm doing this because I want you back. I messed up, you didn't deserve what I did to you but I'll do anything you want for you to forgive me Jewels." Alex answers, his voice emitted sincerity.
But I knew better than to believe in Alex's tone or words to show his true feelings. He was a master of deception."You saying you want me back or that you want my forgiveness doesn't change what happened, and what you said to me that night." I'm not sure if it was the tears that started to well in my eyes or the wind but I could have sworn that he just smirked.
"Is something amusing?" I asked my tone stern."Just the fact that you think you can hide your feelings from me." Something about his voice had changed.
