Graham stared blankly at the words he was trying to read. Had he made the right choice? Did it hurt her more to lose touch than it would to have to stay in contact? No, no that's stupid. He was thinking about himself. Graham forced his eyes back to the page, taking a sip of coffee. He missed her, but she was probably doing fine. After a while, he left the café and went back to his apartment. it was evening so he decided to brush his teeth get changed and crash. But as he was going to get changed, he felt a sort of pin-prick in his neck. But when Graham put his fingers to the spot, he was horrified to find and pull out a dart. And he could already feel it working! Graham stumbled around, desperately trying to fight the poison invading his system, But it was in vain. he dropped to the floor...

Graham woke up in a dark room, a dim bulb overhead. His back was up against a pillar, and his wrists were bound above his head, each end of the rope tied to the now bruised skin of his wrists, the middle of the rope seemingly attached to something on the ceiling. He tugged on the rope, it was tight, but surely he could break free. The more Graham pulled and tugged on his bindings the more desperate and anxious he got. He pulled against the ropes with all his might, but they wouldn't give. "Don't bother," a weak voice said. He looked up to discover a thin girl bound with the same rope. Although it was dark, he could see her bruised eyes and bloody wrists. "I already tried." the voice was familiar, too familiar. "Carmen!?" His voice was full of shock, "Once." was her reply. A moment later two men came in, both staring at Carmen. Full of fear for his friend and with a desperate cry Graham yanked on his bindings, breaking them. He knocked the men's heads together, and after some struggle knocked them both out. Graham knelt in front of Carmen and untied her, "What are you doing!?" She yelled. With tears in her eyes she hugged her knees to her chest, visibly shaking. He put a hand on her shoulder, "Getting us out of here." he replied in a comforting tone. "No, you don't get it. I've already tried! It-It's hopeless!" Her voice cracked at the last word, "It's never hopeless." He said with loving firmness. Carmen willed her head from her knees, seemingly regaining a shred of hope. Graham offered his hand and helped her up, noting how her legs immediately began to shake and wobble. They walked to the door of the room, almost immediately realizing it was locked from outside, after several desperate attempts they faced the fact that they weren't getting out that way... "Maybe there's a vent?" Graham asked as they sat on the floor thinking, "One of the first things I looked for, but they seem to have something against escape routes." Carmen replied, sighing. Graham sighed and plopped down on his back, stretching out his arms. Carmen burst out laughing, "What?" He asked, " Two things. Your face! And the fact that too. this. day. you plop down on your back whenever you feel like you've run out of brain cells." She says with the grin he'd longed to see for so many months. Graham shook his head in amusement, fondly remembering doing homework with a young and very bored Blacksheep. hearing her chuckle and laugh at his antics, and how hard he first found it to learn stealth 101, a class he had now mastered. suddenly he shot up, "Carmen," he started, "How long have you been here?" the girl looked down, visibly fighting back tears. "Guess I stopped trying to keep track after the first two months." Carmen said, her body beginning to shake once more. Graham put a hand to his mouth, what he had done to prepare himself was not nearly enough. He was shocked, he didn't know what to say that could possibly comfort her. And worse yet, the entire time he had thought she was home and safe and that finding her would get her hurt, when the whole time she was here. Trapped and hurt and alone. "I'm so so sorry Carmen." He said as tears welled up in his eyes, "This is all my fault. If I had just been man enough to at least say goodbye, you wouldn't be here right now. You'd be home and safe." And before he could blink, Carmen was at his side. Comforting him? No, but he needed to be the one comforting her! "None of this is your fault Gray. No one could've known, and you're here now aren't you?" Carmen said, hugging him and resting her head on his shoulder. Graham wrapped an arm around her shaking form and planted a kiss on her forehead. "But I should've been here sooner. And I'm sorry that I wasn't" Just as Carmen was taking the breath to say something, the door slamed open. The two barely had a chance to react before five guards were on top of them. Carmen and Graham both struggled as their arms were restrained behind their backs and they were forced to stand. "Let go of her!" Graham screamed, watching in horror as they beat and electrocuted her with a crackle rod. witch was dealt with by a swift kick to the stomach, and a whip to the back. Graham cried out in pain, which made Carmen want to cry. They grabbed him by the arms again and led the two out of the room.
