JUNGKOOK POV
My life had gone from ordinary work-a-day, lonely and single
for far too long, to this.It was both insanity and
ecstasy and I had no regrets. In three short days, Jimin had become everything to me.
My feelings were practically
feral. In the past, I'd cared for very little except work and the
people I worked with. Now I was driven to give my
life to protect this unworldly
and alluring omega who had been matched to me.The road angled through
the mountains.Slowly, we descended, leaving mit all behind us.
Soon, I'd have Jimin safe
and in my home for good."I'm not afraid of the outside world." Jimin said.
"I've never seen for myself
how big it is.""I want to but so many city
lights with UV—I know it's
not safe.""It'll be different from
protecting yourself from streetlights with sunglasses
and a veil." I said."We'll have time to figure
things out when we get home.""Home, You say it like it's automatic."
"You are going home
sweetie, To our home.""Never back to where I was raised?"
"No."
"It was never a real home
for me but your house will
be, I can't wait."His words made me smile
so wide my cheeks ached.I worried he would get carsick because he couldn't see but during the entire drive,
He made no complaints.I made a quick stop for gas
and asked if he needed the restroom. He said no.
If he'd said yes, I was going
to have to figure out how to
get him in and out of it under
the gas station's glaring lights without people thinking I
was committing some crime. The drive felt long because I
was so worried. My sense of time was off.
By the time we arrived, I
felt like we had hit every
red light in existence. At least the sun was finally setting, which made me less apprehensive for my mate.
When we finally rolled up my driveway, the sky was a deep rich blue overhead dissolving pink and gold to the west.
My driveway wound through
my property of ten acres and
as we approached the house
I saw workers milling
about, which was good news.It meant they'd gotten the
jobs done I wanted or were
close to finishing."We're almost to the front
door.""The sun has just set but the ambient light is still there so keep the blanket on, sweetie."
"I'm not as sensitive to that
light but what about lights
in your house?""Everything's been changed."
"There're workers still here
Though, so I'll talk to them
first, I want to be careful.""Okay." His voice sounded a
little more timid than when
we'd been talking on the drive.
