They rushed inside to find the maid's fresh corpse and slowly flowing blood across the floor. Covering her mouth, Elif let out a gasp. Her heart shattered to witness such a scene. Although she knew how her family or her family's background was.

On the other hand, Hunter stood frozen on his spot, his gaze fixed on Ilaria's lifeless eyes. He had no idea the Romanis were such deadly people and if so how dangerous the Marchessi's would be? Probably even more dangerous.

He was left wondering, about his sister who he assumed must be facing hardships at the moment. He only wished she would be unharmed. After he read the note, Elif informed him about everything that occurred.

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you guys like this."

Ezra, who was casually seated on the couch, leaning forward with his hands joined, spoke up in a nonchalant tone, his gun was put beside him.

"Brother wh—"

"No questions, Elif it was necessary"

He didn't let her complete her sentence before he stood up.

"I am glad you look fine."

"I thought you cared for Sonia,"

Hunter remarked while walking closer to Ezra.

"What makes you think that I don't?"

"Because I see you haven't done anything to bring her back yet Ezra!"

Hunter moved closer until the two men were face to face, raging.

"I don't owe you any explanation!"

*Punch*

*Gasp*

"Hunt!"

Elif, already scared out of her wits, screamed as Hunter threw a punch in her brother's face, and as Ezra was about to strike back, she stood in between them.

"No please..."

"You are just a coward, Ezra Romani."

"Shut your Damn Mouth, Hunter Reis!"

"No, don't,"

"Take your friend away from here, El, or I'll—"

"Or What?"

Wanting to fight off each other, the two men continued to shout at one another while Elif's tears refused to stop. As she held his shoulders, he looked at her.

"I told you my friends are off limits. You cannot hurt them."

Scoffing at his sister's words, Ezra turned around, shaking in anger as he tried to control himself. He ran his hand against his face in an attempt to cool down.

"Look, things don't work around here like that. My father is preparing. Don't worry, we will get your sister back safe and sound."

Ezra's tone was low and full of concern.

"And what if you don't? What are we even waiting for? Why don't we call the police?"

"The police won't do shit. They don't interfere in our matters."

Elif said, causing Hunter to frown at her.

"What do you mean?"

She wiped her tears.

"Didn't I tell you previously that the two families have been ruling Deval for decades? There is no higher power present here that could step in or even wish to step in, on the affairs of the two households, if they care about their lives, and the worst thing, is that our enmity is only getting greater by the day."
