"Kairo!"

She was unable to halt her tears as soon as she stepped out of the car and saw him standing on the edge of the balcony.

He gave off the impression that he was in a trance and was about to jump. They were able to arrive within a few minutes as the cafe wasn't too far away from Kairo's house.

"Kairo, what are you doing, move back."

She yelled as her cousin stood next to her.

"We tried to stop him. He is not listening."

"We have to stop him, Hunt, where is Eric?"

"He is upstairs."

Hunter spoke, his eyes gleaming with worry and fear as Sonia rushed into the house with him behind her.

"Open the damn door, Kairo, don't be such a kid!"

They heard Eric speak while he was continuously banging on the door.

"Eric?"

He turned around after hearing her voice.

"Thank God, you guys are here."

He let out a sigh while Hunter also began knocking on the door.

"Bro, whatever it is in your mind, don't do it."

His tone was gentle yet there was no response from inside. Her fingers were trembling, Nico's sudden death was still fresh in her memory, in all of their memories and if Kairo was to commit something inevitable to himself, Sonia was aware it would definitely worsen the friends' mental health because they wouldn't be able to handle another blow.

In no way she could let that happen. However Kairo was Nico's closest friend and they were like brothers, so his death was the reason Kairo too wished to end his life. She took a deep breath before raising her hand to knock.

"Kairo, it's me. We are here for you. Please open the door. Let me in. We can talk this out."

She spoke in a softer tone while wiping her tears.

"Go away, Sonia!"

A gasp left her lips to hear him respond to her as Hunter and Eric stared at each other.

"I won't leave you. Can you please open the door?"

"I said leave!"

Kairo screamed as she bit her lip, trying to control the agony in her heart.

"Y...you know I'm stubborn right and I'm not leaving."

"He said that too."

Kairo whispered to himself while referring to his late best friend as tears spilled out of his eyes.

"Break the door."

Sonia spoke after a while, as the guys were about to burst the door but were halted by the housekeeper's voice, who was hurrying in their direction.

"I found the extra key."

"Thank you, Aunt Suzie."

Sonia quickly hugged her with a smile as Eric unlocked the door. The trio rushed into the room and was about to move toward the balcony.

"Stop! Don't come any closer."

"Have you lost your mind?"

"Shh now is not the time Eric."

She held his hand as he was about to approach Kairo, knowing it would be a wrong move as it might trigger him. She wiped her tears before exhaling.

"Kairo," she took a step in his direction, "you don't have to do this."
