" Oh, hello, Ted."
"Uh, so this morning, I don't just bring biscuits. I also have a very special surprise guest." Ted remarked.
"Oh. How exciting. To whom do I owe the pleasure?"
"I'm Coach Lasso's new bodyguard." Dottie remarked sternly. "Please keep your hands where I can see them." Ted sighed as dottie laughed out. " I'm just kidding. You can keep them well-manicured mitts of yours wherever you like."
"Oh, my God. You're Ted's mother." Rebecca realized.
"Winner, winner, B. F. Skinner."
"Mom, this is my boss, Rebecca Welton. Rebecca, this is Dottie Lasso."
" Oh, honey, bring that in." Dottie declared.
"I can't believe I'm finally getting to meet the woman who created one of the nicest humans I've ever met."
"Oh, no, don't look at me. This one popped out and immediately asked the doctor if he needed anything." Dottie assured.
"That doesn't make any sense." Ted countered. "Babies can't talk and nor do they understand empathy. And you know..."
" Dottie... I'm sorry. May I call you Dottie?"
"Sure, if you want me to respond." She agreed.
"Right. If you'd like, I'd love to show you around."
"Oh, I've heard great things about the Sherlock Holmes Museum." Dottie agreed.
"I mean around the facility."
"Even better. I can't wait to meet Dani Rojas."
"Oh, and he does not disappoint." Rebecca agreed.
"Where you from, honey?"
"Surrey."
"Where are you from?" Dottie questioned loudly.
" Surrey." Rebecca annunciated.
" Oh, I thought you said "sorry."
"Mom can i steal you for a quick second, this is Poppy. My girlfriend. That sounds so childish." Ted admitted. "But shes-"
"Hi Mrs Lasso, I'm Poppy Welton and this is Birdie. Its so nice to meet you."
"Oh..." Dotties face changed. The friendly wonderful hugging woman changed to a standoffish and bitter woman that Ted didnt recognize.
"Um..." Poppy hesitated, she saw her smiling and happy with Rebecca just a moment ago, she didnt understand, did she forget to wear a bra? Were her clothes inside out? Did she spill her tea on herself? No. SHe did a quick check.
"How long are you staying for? Ted didnt-"
"You want me to leave?" Dottie demanded.
"What? No. Ted just didnt mention you were coming." Poppy corrected quickly.
"I didnt tell him."
"What a nice surprise." Poppy agreed but her voice rose an octave, she didnt know what she did to offend Dottie Lasso but clearly she did something.
"Excuse me." Dottie said pushing past. "Rebecca dear. You were going to show me around?"
"Oh I would love to-" poppy offered but dottie shook her head.
"No no rebecca dear was going to." Dottie coreected
"Oh poppy can-" rebecca assured
"No dear." Dottie corrected. "You already offered."
