"Hey, you know the whole thing about Father. I just- you know, wanted to say that you know what I meant and like I didn't mean it like that and..." ( y / n ) dragged. She faced the kitchen wall with something always fidgeting in her hand.
Shina was not paying attention. Who she was paying attention to was Saiki, who conveniently was so in his own head that he just COULDN'T spare a glance towards Shina.
"SAIKI!" She yelled, a finger pointed right at him.
( y / n ) blinked, turning around and staring at both Saiki and Shina. "Woah, what the hell?"
Saiki sat there like someone didn't just yell his name 10 decebals over the auditory limit. Shina gritted her teeth and you could see the sparks flying.
"Hello? Am I speaking chinese?" ( y / n ) asked, her eyebrows narrowing.
It's Mandarin or Cantonese.
He thought to himself, like it was the right situation to be paying attention to ( y / n ).
Shina grabbed his collar and without his strength, he was limp. "Hey! Don't- ! Shina! What the hell?"
( y / n ) slammed her palms on the counter table and everything sitting peacefully on it shook violently. Saiki looked at her unlike Shina who, although stopping in her tracks, didn't. "Shina. Stop right there."
Shina looked at her. "Just give me a moment."
"What's going on? What's wrong with you? Huh?"
The mood switched and so did Shina. "What's these questions? You're not mother."
"I'm your older sister. And that's close enough." ( y / n ) replied, eyebrows narrowed. She tilted her head, looking at Saiki for just a moment. No point. "Where are you going with my boyfriend?"
The b-word caught Saiki off guard.
"I have to talk to him." Shina said.
"About what?" ( y / n ) immediately asked.
Shina didn't say anything. She wasn't going to. At this moment, she was about to crack open and spill everything she had seen. Who cared about Saiki? Her older sister might get involved.
Her mouth opened.
"You have to ignore me like how you ignore the issue with Father?"
Shina shut it. Saiki's eyes moved from Shina to ( y / n ), who would not spare a glance for him.
Shina, at this point didn't care anymore and with her grip tightening, continued out of the room. ( y / n )'s lips pursed, releasing the tension in her shoulder and let her go. That was a bit... much.
Shina's eyebrows were narrowed, slamming the door shut after her (and Saiki in her hands) walked out. She let him go. Her whole demeanor slumped, sighing. Without even an acknowledgement of him, she walked to the yard and sat down.
Saiki looked at the door, the direction to the kitchen before looking at Shina again.
"What were you going to talk about?" He asked.
What am I saying? I could have just gone right ahead and left through the sidewalk.
Shina looked up at him, shock plaster on her face. "He talks!"
His face didn't move an inch, just his normal 'whatever' look. She sighed before retracting her legs into a ball.
Saiki walked just a little bit closer. Cars whizzed by. The birds chirped. The flowers moved in the wind.
"I don't know. I was going to scream about your powers but, I'm just thinking."
Saiki tensed up. He was unsure what to say.
"I was going to threaten you, to tell you to break up with my sister or I'll tell her about your powers. After you say, "Do you have evidence?" I was going to say, "( y / n )'s my sister, she'll believe me over you!"" Shina made little voices.
Saiki blinked along as she talked.
"But after- you know. I feel like maybe she'd believe you over- I don't know!" She burst into frustration.
"Who are you really, Saiki?" She muttered, eyes narrowing, finally looking up at him.
Maybe it was how pitiful she looked. Maybe the argument with ( y / n ). Maybe how, although he didn't know the context at all, Shina looked hurt.
"I'm just a normal, average guy." He said.
Shina smirked. "Yeah, that's what I thought you said. Even after I saw you teleport first hand."
Silence. Not even awkward. Because Saiki knew Shina- from all the rambles and the monologues of talkative ( y / n ). Saiki knew how she was smart, just as pretty as her mother, how ( y / n ) wished she had her eyelashes and her nails which never seem to crack.
So, after all, Saiki knew she knew. It was right in her face. Shina wasn't one to overthink and delude herself.
"I don't know. Just be nice to my older sister. Yeah?" Shina said, getting up. "I'm going to go."
Shina walked the completely way Saiki expected, out of the fences and leaving the grounds of the house. Saiki could even sigh.
( y / n ) heard the door click open and closed. She faced the wall of the kitchen and she pursed her lips. "Hey, Shina, look I-"
"Oh, Kusuo." ( y / n ) muttered. "Wheres- um. What's up?"
Saiki didn't say anything and ( y / n ) laid in it's comfort.
( y / n ) looked in the refrigerator and slapped it closed. "Ah! No coffee jelly! Sorry, Kusuo!"
Saiki without his powers could not see through the door of the refrigerator. But the in ( y / n )'s horrible acting skills, it seemed like he had powers after all. ( y / n ) sighed.
"Kusuo, why did you even come here?" ( y / n ) said, leaning onto the counter while Saiki sat in one of the chairs tucked into the counter.
Saiki didn't know.
"Are you not speaking because you forgot to speak or... what?" ( y / n ) replied, fidgeting with her hands. Suddenly, she had become pissed off.
"I don't-"
"You better have a good reason because my fight with Shina is YOUR fault!" ( y / n ) knew very well it wasn't.
And Saiki knew that ( y / n ) didn't believe what she had just said. It was in her defeated eyes about to become puffy and her weird calm attitude just a second before.
"Oh god! How embarrassing!" ( y / n ) screeched, "I was so rude to Shina. Why did you come here, Kusuo, that you had to see all that?"
Again, Saiki had no idea.
"There's something happening at my school," Saiki would have never confessed the real reason he came ( - > which is because he just spontaneously wanted to).
"Yeah?" Her mood switched again to apathetic.
"Do you want to come?"
