GREAT SUNDAY

The day has finally come.

She had spent yesterday afternoon overthinking. As a result, she barely got any sleep. Today is the day that she will finally introduce her friend to her so-called 'boyfriend'. There she is, right outside the amusement park, about to hyperventilate.

" [ Y / N ]!" A pretty loud voice shouted; she looked at where the voice called. It was Nozomi. Nozomi had wild purple hair with multicoloured pastel clips; she was the embodiment of wacky but cute. She nearly ran into her, giving [ y / n ] the most enormous hug. "So? Where is he?!"

"He's not here yet." [ y / n ] says, smiling at her.

"It's Rei!" She says, pointed behind [ y / n ].

Rei was more classy, with pretty blonde hair and dangling earrings. Her constant playing with her hair matched well with her one-piece. A male accompanied her. Her boyfriend is named Kenji. He had brown hair, black piercings and a casual V-neck shirt.

They all greeted each other casually.

"Why'd you have to bring Kenji? I'm the only one who's single." Nozomi jokes.

"[ y / n ], where is he?"

"HAH! Stop ignoring me!"

There he was. His glasses and his weird clips. He looked so lost. He knew that she was close without his powers, but he couldn't use his usual powers. "Wait a minute."

She called Saiki over; as he made a weird shock noise, he looked at the girl. Then, he walked over as Nozomi and Rei admired his every move.

"Hi." He says.

"HI! My name is Nozomi Sato! You can call me Nozo! Wow, you look oddly familiar!"

"Stop hogging him!" Rei says, playfully pushing her aside. "My name is Rei! It's so nice to meet you!"

Keji puts his elbow on top of Rei, leaning towards her as he looks at Saiki right in the eyes. "My name's Kenji. [ y / n ]'s been single forever; it's nice to have a bro around!"

"Hey! Nozomi hadn't had a relationship yet too!" [ y / n ] yelled.

"That's because I'm not looking for one! Unlike YOU!"

"SHUT UP!" [ y / n ] yells, then looking back at Saiki. "Sorry about them."

They're just like the people at school.

Saiki introduced himself as the other asked questions, often teasing them with [ y / n ] jokes. Saiki tried to have more than a blank, low face, but it was just that for most of the ride. In what felt like a minute, Kenji realised half an hour had passed.

"Let's goo!" Kenji says.

The gang walked to the entrance of the amusement park, buying tickets and purchasing small snacks. There were rides everywhere, too Ferris Wheels to nerve-wracking rollercoaster rides. The group went on various rides. Saiki was not impressed. Probably because he got motion sickness from the Carousel, but we don't talk about that.

"Saiki, are you enjoying it?" She asked, sipping on the water as they waited for the ride. The others were at the bathroom, which made [ y / n ]see the opportunity to talk to Saiki privately.

"Yes."

It wasn't half wrong. It was nice to be in a crowded place without having to listen to their inner thoughts, but he flinched when he heard somebody scream. He saw [ y / n ]'s friend and herself as a nuisance, annoying and full of energy.

"You aren't lying to me, are you?" She questions.

What's with her?

"No."

"I just- never mind." She says, blinking and looking away.

Good grief, did I hurt her feelings or something? Am I supposed to say sorry? But I don't know what to apologise for. I didn't do anything wrong? Did I? Why am I overthinking?

"I'm not lying." He says, starring.

She looked back, smiling again. Going back to yapping and whining about how long the line was.

That was easy.

He grinned.

" [ y / n ]! Takes for holding out spot!" Rei says, getting back into line with her boyfriend. "Nozo went to get some Shaved Ice."

There she was, running with 5 cups of ice cream. "NOZO! You're gonna trip!"

Rei went back outside the line, jogging towards her and taking 2 of the cups and going back and handing them to Saiki and Kenji.

It felt like a click of a finger before it was 6, the sun already setting. Saiki was exhausted, running around and getting shocked every time someone talked out of the blue. "Jeez- You're sweating so much!"

Saiki was out of the moment, and [ y / n ] pulled out his glasses casually. Saiki didn't seem to notice. She whipped the lenses with her shirt, putting it back where it belonged. "Coffee Jelly time!"

His ears perked up.

The restaurant was indeed fancy. [ y / n ] looked like it was her millionth time coming her as Saiki looked around, with a blank space, of course. An employee guided them to a lovely spot, sitting down and staring at the menu.

"You can have much as you want." She says, looking at the menu.

A million sweets stacked the table; Saiki didn't seem to mind, but [ y / n ] kind of did. "T-This is a lot of sweets; you're going to get a stomach ache! We're supposed to be eating dinner!"

I don't get stomach aches.

"Hm." She said; she shoved her hand into her bag, looking around. "Here it is."

"2 million yen is enough, right?" She asked, putting the envelope on the table. He nodded without hesitation., going back to eating his sweets.

"So~ What do you usually do on a Sunday?" She asked, twidling her fork through her pasta.

"Stay at home, alone." He states.

"Wow- that's depressing. I'm proud of myself for inviting you." She said rather smugly.

How annoying.

He smiled.
