Chapter 4

"Ya Ruqayyah", Aaira screams and gets up running to hug her sister.

"Aaira", Ruqayyah says as they get into a long hug

"Aaira I missed u soo much, I can't believe it has already been 3 years since I left but don't worry I am back and I am not going anywhere again", Ruqayyah says smiling at Aaira.

Aaira drags Ruqayyah to her small, narrow bed which is all worn out, old and makes squeaky noises. Then they sit.

"Ya Ruqayyah I missed u alot as well, honestly this seems like a dream, I hope I am not dreaming", Aaira says.

"No my dear its not a dream, I am here with you",Ruqayyah explains.

"It seems like happiness is finally coming back into my life, firstly Maryam came back and then you", Aaira says and hugs her sister again.

They get into a long conversation, and Ruqayyah finally gathers the courage to ask Aaira about her scholarship.

"Aaira what happened, I know you could never ever cheat, so how did.....," Ya Ruqayyah says.

"Ya Ruqayyah complete your sentence how did what," I say.

"Aaira I know you understand what I am trying to say, I promise I trust you and I always will. Haven't I always been here with you, haven't I always supported you, if not for me Mamii would have taken you to the orphanage. And I am sorry Aaira I am not trying to remind you about that but please just trust me." Ruqayyah says trying to justify herself.

"I trust you wholeheartedly sis and I know you will never leave my side. And I will never forget that it is because of you I am still living in this house, thank you. And about my scholarship I swear I didn't cheat, someone framed me and I promise to find the person no matter who it is. And sis magically my assignments keep disappearing if I send it to the lecturer, I always knew that sending assignments online wasn't a good idea. I honestly don't know what's going on," I explain.

"Don't worry, you have me right, I will help you find out who the person is no matter what happens. But I know thats not all that's disturbing you, share it with me," Ruqayyah says.

"It's nothing honestly, and you didn't even tell me the reason you're here. How's Mahmood, where is he I didn't even see him with you," I say.

"Hmmm, must I have a reason to come to my father's house. So after I got married you guys kicked me out of the family right. Me and mahmud decided to come back to Nigeria where we will be closer to our families," Ruqayyah says to Aaira.

"It's not like that sis, omg your staying in nigeria from now on, yayyyy. But then where's your husband," I say.

"We had an argument so I am not going home any time soon", Ruqayyah says Looking sad.

"What happened between you two," I ask.

"I don't wanna talk about it", Ruqayyah shouts.

"It's okay calm down, just forget about it," I say, after seeing how angry she is.

"You still didn't tell me what's bordering you. I am the elder one I will understand, I'll always be here for you."

"It's Grandma..........."

Before I could complete my sentence Kareem barges into the room.

"Don't worry sis we'll always be here for you", Karim says and hugs both me and Ruqayyah.

"It's already 9:00 am, I need to leave", Aaira says then gets up to leave.

"But where are you going this early Sunday morning", Ruqayyah says Looking confused then turns to Kareems direction.
