Walking through the hospital gates, I remember Grandma.
The last time I came here was when Grandma was admitted here. Grandma was like my only family, she loved me so much and cared for me. Whenever I think about her I remember that piece of paper, I have to find out what it means no matter what. I am right in front of Dr. Gana's office, let me keep all these thoughts aside.I knock and open the door slightly "Assalumu Alaikum, may I come in".
"Wa'alaikumus Salam, you may", Dr. Gana says.
"Good Afternoon Dr." I say.
"How are you Aaira, hope everything is fine", Dr. Gana asks.
"All good Doctor", I reply.
"I am glad that you came, because what I am going to tell you today is very important. Your father and I have been friends for a very long time, he was such a good person. Before he passed away he told me that anything I wanted to discuss about him with his family, I should call you alone.
Even though your mother blames you for your father's death, I know it's not you", Dr. Gana explains.I look at Dr. Gana and say "If it's anything regarding Abii I'll never delay it. He was the best thing that ever happened to me and I will surely find out who was behind his death".
"Don't worry I'll help you find out who the person is, right now just hear me out. Your father's food was poisoned intentionally, everyone thought maybe you mixed some stuff in the food, but all this was done deliberately. Someone intended to kill your father and then blamed it on you by putting the poison in the food you cooked. I have the proof that you're innocent", Dr. Gana explains.
"Yo.. you.. have proof", I ask.
"Yes I do, I have the CCTV footage of that day. Anyone who watches it will know that it wasn't your fault your father died. Someone deliberately did this", Dr. Gana says.
"Who was it, who killed my father", I shiver.
"The identity of the person isn't known. The person is very smart, I couldn't even determine the gender of the person. See the footage for yourself", Dr. Gana says.
I watch the footage from beginning to end even though it's a little blurry you can visibly see someone putting the poison. The person was wearing a black hoodie, black trousers and a mask like thing.
"We have to find out who the person is no matter what", I say.
"Aaira, if you're patient the truth will unveil itself before you. Take the footage with you and keep it safe, it will be very useful one day", Dr. Gana says.
"Ok thank you sooo much doctor for informing me about this. May I take my leave", I say.
"No, you can't go now, there is another reason why I called you here", Dr. Gana says.
I look at him in confusion "I don't understand".
"I mean there is something else I want to tell you. Your father was characterised with partial amnesia years before his death. This made him forget very important things and then 2 months before his death he regained all his memory. This illness didn't come naturally though, because someone kept giving him pills which made him forget important stuff about his past", Dr. Gana explains.
"What?? My father had to endure so much, I promise I will never forgive the person who did all this to him", I shout.
"I think the person giving him these pills was the same person behind his murder. There most be something very very important about his past that triggered the person to give him these pills. If you think about it when he lost his memory no one attempted to kill him but 2 months after he regained his memory he was killed", Dr. Gana says.
