"Italy? Really?"
The twelve year old Theo was speaking to let out a melodic laugh as she nodded, "What? It wasn't obvious, I've been told my accent is thick."
Theo's brows furrowed, it was thick, which is why he was concerned he hadn't caught it.
"You said you had a little brother, how long have y'all been here?"
"Oh, a few days ago at most. May 1st, 1939."
Theo spluttered. 1939? How long had he been here?
He backed up, muttering an apology and stumbling to a bathroom while his head began to pulse.
He sprayed water in his face before staring at his reflection in the mirror.
Theo looked different. His cheeks had lost a bit of baby fat, his hair looked extremely healthy but his eyes... He blinked hard, not recognizing the dull, bloodshot eyes staring back at him.
"Is everything alright?" A British voice sounded behind him. It was another dude with a lotus casino uniform.
"Yeah, you know, I think I just need some fresh air."
"Here, try this. You'll feel better."
The dude tried handing him a glass of pink liquid with flower petals. It smelled amazing but revolted him at the same time.
"Nah, I'll feel better outside."
Theo pushed by him and out into the hallway, searching for Percy or Annabeth or Grover.
"Sir, I must advise you drink it. I promise it will make you feel better."
Theo scoffed, "Sorry, stranger danger. You understand."
He heard a growl sound behind him and winced as he felt talons dig into his shoulder, "Of course."
He shot he elbow backwards into the monster's groin, stunning him before gripping one of his knives and sending it through the monster's jaw.
He gave a long-suffering sigh as he watched the man turn to dust.
He ran up to the balcony, searching for any of his companions. Theo couldn't believe he had been so stupid and allowed himself to be manipulated like this.
A flash of blond curls caught his eye. Percy. Theo watched as he gripped Annabeth's shoulders and shook before speaking. Whatever he said caused her eyes to go wide before scanning the area for Grover.
He moved to catch up with him before feeling someone kick his knees in. He flew to the floor, banging his jaw.
"Unfortunately, you were not informed that monsters cannot be dissolved in their base of power. Shame."
"It really is. Everyone is cursed with your existence which is a special kind of torture."
The monster chuckled, "So arrogant for a forgotten."
Theo glanced at him as he tightened his grip on the knife, "A forgotten?"
The monsters lip curled into a snarl, "You are not the first group of demigods to wander in here, you won't be the last. You remember companions based on the strength of your bond."
Theo was extremely confused as to where this was going. Especially when the man sat in a chair.
"It is why siblings remember each other. It is a shame that your bond with your companions is not as strong as you thought."
Theo sent a frantic look behind him and felt his heart drop to his stomach as Percy and Annabeth dragged Grover from the lobby.
"Let me out," Theo spoke calmly.
