Waking abruptly to the sound of your alarm, you choose to lay there after smacking the snooze button three times. Your phone rings after you hit the snooze on your alarm clock, causing you to jolt up and answer quickly.
"Hello?" You call to the person on the other end.
"Yes, hello. Are you the doorman for the apartment complex with a resident that sells milk?"
Silence.
Were you frightened? You weren't sure.
"First, who are you? Why do you want to know my identity? Who gave you my home phone number?" you bombard them with questions, causing them to huff in frustration.
"Who gave me it is unimportant. Do you know a man by the name of Francis or not?"
"I do know of him, but I don't personally know him."
Silence.
"Hello?"
The phone goes dead.
"Well, fuck." you exhale, placing your hands on your face before driving a fist through your hair. You stand up and go to the bathroom, undressing for a shower.
To check the temperature, you place your hand against the steady stream of water to feel it. When it gets to a respectable temperature, you hop inside.
After around thirty minutes, you get out of the shower and dress in khakis, a black button-up shirt, and a nice blazer to keep you warm. Afterall, it was the middle of January, and the winter air was hypothermia inducingly cold.
Of course, it was only around -4 degrees because of the position of the sun, but you curse mother nature for giving Earth four seasons.
You put on your black shoes and head downstairs to the kitchen to brew a coffee. When it finishes, you blow on it and add coffee creamer along with a few spoons of sugar.
Stirring the coffee, you take a careful sip and start out the door.
You head to your cadillac and get in, turning the ignition and starting the vehicle. Once it starts and revs loudly, you begin driving to the apartment complex you worked at.
