The story start with the first scene is of random students schmoozing at the dance. Bartholomew Oobleck is shown to be listening intently as Peter Port laughs over some unheard anecdote. Ozpin is standing off to the side with Glynda Goodwitch until General James Ironwood offers his hand for her to dance with him. Ruby Rose approaches Evan Smith, who is standing pensively near the refreshments tables.

Ruby: I see you're hiding at the punch bowl too.

Evan: Uhuh.

Ruby: To the socially awkward.

Evan chuckles and they clink glasses.

Evan: So, wanna dance?

Ruby: W-what?

Evan: I mean, this is you're typical types of scene where the lonely guy ask the lonely girl to dance and... (sigh) Can we just... dance? (holds out hands)

Ruby: (giggles as she's took Evan's hand) Sure...

With that, Ruby and Evan is led to where the other dancers were and slowly began to start a slow waltz. The dance was calm but very satisfying, even with Ruby's clumsy steps Evan manage to correct her with each step. And with one last twirl, their dance ended. Evan curtsied to Ruby as she clumsily followed suit bet nevertheless, she was happy to dance with Evan. After their little dance, the two went back to the table.

Ruby: Wow, I didn't know you can dance like that.

Evan: Well, I played rhythm game in an arcade a lot. So uh, yeah.

They both share a small laugh until Ruby remember something.

Ruby: Oh, Evan! Are you busy with something else after this?

Evan: Maybe, why?

Ruby: Well, I saw Weiss acting pretty upset, and I think it's because she hasn't found her dance partner.

Evan: Wait, really? I thought she gone ask Neptune out.

Ruby: No, she she just say hi to him and walked away.

Evan: Huh. 'Could've sworn that she asked Neptune out' I'll see what I can do.

Ruby: Thanks Evan.

Evan: So uhh... Where is she?

Ruby: I think she's at that seat over there.

Evan: Alright, see ya later Ruby.

Ruby: See ya!

(Meanwhile)

In another part of the dance floor, we see Weiss appearing to be in a chair, waiting.

Weiss: Oh... Where is he?

Evan: Where is who?

Weiss: Oh Evan! I was waiting for you!

Evan: I see... So, wanna dance? (offered his hand to Weiss which she takes it) 

Evan bring Weiss to the middle of the ballroom once again and slowly began to dance at the song, gradually quickening and slowly at the same time with the tempo as they waltzed again and again. The duo twirled around one last time before both took a bow at each other.

Evan: Well, that was fun. See you later, Weisser!

Weiss: O-okay. See ya...

(Later)

Evan: "See you later, Weisser"? Why did I say that? That does not make any sense...

Then, Evan was hugged from behind while feeling two very soft sensations on his back. Making his cheek redden.
