SURPRISEEEEEE

Harry's POV
______________

I don't think my heart can take it.

She's beautiful, absolutely fucking beautiful. I want her to be mine so badly, but I don't know if she feels the same. I try asking Hermione, but she reply's with ask yourself.

I watch, my eyes not leaving hers as she walks down the stairs with her arm interlocked with Hermione's. I can't help but feel a pang of jealousy, I know they're just friends, the bestest of friends actually.

But tonight's the night, I'm going to tell her how I feel, I don't know how much longer I can keep it to myself before I explode. Her face lights up once her eyes land on me, subconsciously I adjust my sleeves feeling the need for everything to be perfect.

Y/n and Hermione split their separate ways, Y/n still making her way towards me. I smile brightly and wrap an arm around her, she's stunning. Everything about her. I will do anything for her if it means I get to keep her in my arms like this with that smile on her face.

She stammers over her words, "You... you look- wow Harry."

"So do you..." I manage to say without tripping over my words, which seems to happen often lately.

"Oh, there you are, Mr. Potter!" Professor McGonagall approaches the two of us, "Miss. Black." She says acknowledging Y/n. "Are you two ready?" I look at her confused, "Ready Professor?"

"To dance!" She exclaims in a panicked state, "It's tradition that the three... well in this case four... are the first to dance. Surely I told you that."

"No..."Y/n looks over at me just as confused as I am, "Oh well, now you know...Please make your way over to the others," McGonagall urges us over to the others before directing other students into the Great Hall.

I watch as Y/n rushes over to Fleur and greets her with a warm hug, as well as Cedric. Normally I would hate the sight of the two of them, being friendly of a sort with each other. But knowing that Y/n came with me and not Cedric eases me.

As the others line up my eyes widen at the sight of Krum and Hermione, hand in hand. Not that I didn't believe her when she had a date, I was just confused as to why she wouldn't tell us who it was.

Being the youngest champion Y/n and I were aligned to the very back of the others, when the doors open at large we begin to enter the Great Hall. Everyone around us applauds our entrance.

I look over at the girl beside me, her face written with a smile, one that I know isn't her true one but still just as pretty. I couldn't help but to smile with her, even with all this shit going on she somehow manages to not only smile but put a smile on my face as well.

"Remember how we practiced?" She whispers in my ear, falling into formation with the other groups around us. I smile nervously and nod as the music begins to play.

Dancing, one of the many things I happen to be horrible at.

Those dance lessons must have helped tremendously as I don't feel like I'm making a total fool of myself. I lift Y/n by the waist to the music, and continue the footsteps, twirling her with a single hand on the occasion.

She smirks, "You've gotten better Harry." She laughs as I lift her up again, her dress circling around us, "I had a great teacher I suppose." I smirk as her face becomes flushed.

Before I know it several more people have now joined in the dance, including the staff and Professors. When the music comes to a slow halt, Y/n does a gentle curtsy and I bow at the waist before pressing a kiss to her hand and guiding her off the dance floor.
