Morning came, and it was very awkward. Saph wasn't even able to get enough sleep, she was mostly awake the whole night and listened to Nyeve's calm breathing.

( Let's scratch the part where Saph turned to the other side and watched Nyeve sleep for an hour, tracing the younger woman's sharp features with her eyes and trying to fight off the urge to trace them with her own fingertips. It took an hour of her pondering how a spoiled yet adorable nine year old girl like Nyeve turned into the fine lady that she was today. Saph couldn't help but to reminisce about the past that she and Nyeve dearly shared, and she fell asleep thinking that Nyeve was probably the most beautiful woman in this world.

And that she was the luckiest to have the most beautiful woman to ever exist sleep beside her. )

Saph's sleep was shallow so when the skies started to lighten up, she woke up and already went out of the bed then went outside but before that, she made sure to pull the blanket until Nyeve's shoulder so the latter wouldn't feel too cold.

Since she couldn't sleep, she drank coffee and cooked breakfast for them. As she waited for Nyeve to wake up, she played with Sappy.

When Nyeve woke up, they started to eat. It was silent and awkward, even Sappy was confused because they were not talking to each other or even making eye-contact. The quietness was almost deafening, ang pag-tunog lang ng kubyertos ang naririnig.

It was almost painful, because there was an obvious distance between them. And that distance was suffocating them both, a strangle on their necks. Yet no one was brave enough to speak unless it was really needed.

And after the unusual awkward and silent breakfast, Saph drove Nyeve home with their dog, sighing silently to herself because she couldn't act normal, couldn't pretend that they almost did kiss on the lips last night because Nyeve drove Saph weak.

Hindi maganda to', and what had almost happened last night was haunting her. There shouldn't be thoughts like that in the first place, Saph shouldn't have felt tempted even for a moment.

God, Saph was going crazy in the head.

Throughout the ride, it was also painfully silent — though there was music blasting on the speakers. The lack of verbal exchange between them was extremely unsettling. Nyeve wasn't jamming along whenever her favorite songs were being played, just sitting stiffly on the passenger seat, with Sappy on her lap.

When they reached the beautiful abode, Saph pulled over by the driveway, and didn't dare to speak, just awkwardly glancing at Nyeve who was already taking off the seatbelt, scooping Sappy with her arms.

Nyeve opened the door, and Saph was deflating, unable to even pat Sappy goodbye because of the lying awkwardness between the two of them. She couldn't even open her mouth to bid her farewell to the younger woman.

However, before Nyeve could even fully hop out from the car, she uttered, "You should've done it." A lump stuck in the back of her throat.

The two of them were well aware of what Nyeve was talking about, causing the atmosphere to become heavier and even more suffocating.

Saph went tense, her vice-like grip on the steering wheel tightened, "That's way out of the line..." She whispered back, almost inaudible but Nyeve clearly heard it.

Gritting her teeth, Nyeve huffed, "There is no such line." pag-giit niya.

The older woman shook her head in defeat, "There is." She firmly responded back, full of resolution. A way to convince Nyeve— no, to convince her own pitiful self.

Nyeve didn't answer, and with a deep breath, she finally slipped out of the car, hugging Sappy with her who was snorting and squirming on her hold, as if he still wanted to stay with Saph. Out of panic and guilt, Saph added in a hurry, "I'm sorry," She apologized, causing Nyeve to stop her movements. "I-I just can't do it." Her voice trailed off weakly.
