sam's pov:

"come on man you can't keep doing this it's not good for you mental health. Plus its been six months" Colby complained for the fifth time today. Like I get he's worried about me and all but it's not like I've done nothing because the truth is I've been going to the gym every second weekday and going on runs on the weekend. And I've also been filming a lot for the sam and Colby channel and my personal one. I just haven't really gone out and doing other stuff.

"Brother someone we are worried about you. How about we go to the beach today for a few hours." My roommate, Jake said. Damn they know me too well. The beach has always been my weak spot.

"Ugh fine. But if anything happens to piss me off i'm leaving." I agreed

"Hell yeah brother! Beach day!" Corey, my third roommate exclaimed. And just like that I was putting my bathers and sunscreen on and we were off to the beach.

Once we got there I was immediately in paradise. The beach has always been my safe space. It's hard to explain it's just so relaxing, the sounds of the waves and the laughter of other people, the tan lines you always get and the cold water on a hot day. The beach is my favourite place by far.

We placed our beach towel down and sat for about 30 mins talking about the most random things ever.

"Yo, do you think fish speak in different languages?" Jake questioned. Jakes always been the weirdest out of the group. In a good way of course. But sometimes his questions make me re-think our friendship.

"Brother, are you high? Cause what the actual fuck is a question like that doing in your head?" Colby asked, chuckling a little bit.

"I am not high thank you very much, but think about it, we speak different languages depending on the country, so what if fish do the same?" Oh my god Jake you're a special one.

"Jake brother, I don't think anyone would know the answer to that considering we can't even understand fish at all." I said in a "duh" tone.

"Oh yeah. Makes sense. Anyways let's go out into the water it's boring sitting here!" Jake complained.

"Hell yeah brother!" Corey shouted. Earning a few looks from people but he didn't care. That's the thing I love about this group, we can be ourselves and not care about what others think. We started running towards the water laughing. I was actually shocked no one yelled "Last one there is a rotten egg" because almost every time some one does.

"Last one there is a rotten egg!" Colby yelled. Ok I take back everything I said before. I should know by now that they will always yell it. But I don't really care because I'm the only one out of our group that runs so I win pretty much every time. Jake ended up being the last one because he saw a 'shiny thing' and apparently had to check it out. Turns out it was just seaweed.

We were probably mucking around for an hour in the water when the waves started to pick up. We decided to stay in the water for a bit longer. We were in for another 15 mins when I noticed I was drifting away. Colby, Corey and Jake looked like they were getting out too. I was watching them to see if they were getting out when a wave pulled me under the water. I managed to get my head out of the water enough to get a breath and scream for help. I was panicking and trying to swim when I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me onto a surf board but I was so out of breath that the darkness took over me.
