Madelyn's pov:

we just landed in Melbourne and I feel happy because I've always loved coming home but I'm more sad about my dad. the first thing we did was get Ubers to the car rental place and got two cars and then drove to the hospital not wasting anytime going to hotels. since me and sof lived in Australia and were used to the roads we drove. in my car there was me driving (obviously), sam in the passenger, Corey in the middle, back, Devyn next to him and Jake next to Devyn. in Sofia's car there was Her driving (duh), Colby in the passenger, reggie in the middle back with cassie and tara and since their car was a 7 seater Kevin and ben sat in the very back.

when we arrived at the hospital we got a visitors sticker and went to my dads room. my heart shattered at the site of him, he looked so pale. my mum instantly got up and gave me a hug then gave sof and ben one since ben had been here before with us. she then turned to the others and they all introduced themselves.

"well it's very nice too meet you all. my name is Victoria by the way." she seemed really tired but tried her best not to show it "Lynn and sof do you mind sing your song you made for dan he's been asking for it." I missed that nickname. only my mum and dad called me 'Lynn' but soon it will just be mum I guess.

"of course do you have our guitars?" sof asked. she loves her old guitar but she couldn't bring it to LA with us so she had to buy a new one which she always complains about. mum passes us our guitars and we sat down on the side of dad's bed facing him. the group quietly sat on the couches, I think they were being quiet because they wanted to give us space which I'm happy about.

"you ready?" I questioned sof, she nodded her head and we started playing the guitar together.

"In the stillness of the night

When the stars are shining bright

I feel a sense of peace

Knowing you'll be safe in heaven's release

Through the trials and the pain

You'll find solace in the rain

For in the arms of angels

Your spirit will forever be able

As the moonlight softly glows

And the gentle wind it blows

I'll keep you in my heart

Until the day we're no longer apart

In the boundless sky above

You'll find everlasting love

In a place of eternal grace

You will be safe in heaven's embrace

Every memory we share

Will be sacred, tender, rare

Through the laughter and the tears

I'll hold you close through all the years

So rest now, my dear friend

This is not the bitter end

For in the afterlife's embrace

You will be safe, surrounded by grace" we sang

tears filled my eyes knowing this will be one of the last times I'll see my dad. once we were done everyone silently clapped and cried as I got up and hugged my dad then mum. my mum went to check my dad's heart rate to make sure he's still alive. my mum pushed a button and a bunch of nurses came running went to him. I couldn't tell what was going on but I heard his heart monitor stop beating. the nurses including my mum all slowly left the room with a sad look on their faces. I saw my dad's lifeless body and broke down. I felt two arms wrap around me but this time it was sam. I hugged him back and I felt so safe in his arms. he left me cry on his shoulder not worrying about my tear stain on his shoulder.
