Lifeguard // Sam Golbach

Madelyn's pov:

It was smooth day at work and I was having a nice conversation with Sofia when suddenly I hear a faint call for help.

"Yo Sofia did you hear that?" I questioned my best friend.

"Yeah I did but I can't see where it came from" She replied scanning the ocean. I was looking around too when a group of three boys around our age came up to us.

"Excuse me are you a life guard?" One with blue hair asked

"Yeah. Are you guys alright?" I asked still trying to look at the ocean.

"Um we are but our friend is in the water. We think he got pulled under by a wave" One with a man bun said with a worried look on his face.

I looked at the ocean and saw another guy around our age struggling to swim.

"Oh shit I see him, Sofia stay with these boys I'm going to get the guy that's drowning." I yelled while grabbing my surfboard and running out to the water not having enough time to stop. I made my way fast to the guy and grabbed him and put him on my surfboard. I laid him down flat and went to shore. I was almost at shore when I noticed he was passed out. Shit. I thought. without a second thought I picked him up and ran to shore, being only shin deep in water. At the moment I was worried about my surfboard getting taken away because I knew Sofia would get it if I asked. 

"Sofia grab my surfboard he's passed out and I don't know if he has a pulse." I said trying to be as calm as possible for his friends. I laid him down on the sand and check his pulse. It was there but weak and I need to perform CPR asap. "Sofia he's got a pulse but its weak I'm going to do CPR but I need you to keep his friends calm" and without waiting for a response I started CPR drowning out everything going on around me and just focusing on getting the guy breathing again.

After about two rounds he finally woke up and I let out a sigh of relief. I finally looked up and I saw the three boys with tears in their eyes and Sofia trying their best to calm them down. Sofia had her back to me so she couldn't see me.

"Sofia he's alive." I said with a tad bit of happiness in my voice. She turned around and visibly relaxed. I turned to his friends "he's alright but we will need to take him but to the tower. Do you mind telling us his name and your guys' names too. We can't really do much without his name."

"Uh yeah for sure. Um his name is Sam." the purple haired one said. "My names Colby, this is Jake," he said pointing to the one with silver like hair. "and this is Corey." pointing to the guy with the man bun.

"Alright, thanks we will take him up to the tower for tests to make sure he's alright. He is awake but very weak." Sofia said "You guys are more than welcome to follow us." and just like that we were heading to the tower with sam and his friends following. I spoke into the radio letting the guys up there know we are coming and we need someone to keep watch incase something else happens.

When we got to the tower we set sam down on the bench and his friends sat in chairs. Sofia went to get the things we need to run tests while I spoke to the boys.

"So we told you our names but you never told us yours." Jake pointed out. 

"Oh yeah sorry about that. My names Madelyn but you can call me Maddy or Mads I don't really mind." I said. The boys all looked at me expecting more. "Right. The other lifeguards name is Sofia but she goes by Sof sometimes. Sorry I'm not thinking straight right now the Adrenaline is still kicked in I guess." the boys laughed.

"Where is your accent from I can't quite pin point it" Corey asked "It's very strong by the way. You also seem very cool." he added.

"It's from Australia. Me and Sof grew up there and moved here last year." I replied. "You guys seem like cool too. This is gonna sound so weird you seem family do you do like social media?"

"Yeah we do YouTube" Jake replied.

"I knew you guys looked familia. I don't think I'm subscribed but I've seen you before. Me and Sof do YouTube as well we are quite big." I laughed

"That's cool. how many subs do you have?" Sam asked. wow he must be recovering fast because he looks a bit better. wait, he looks kinda... NO! MADELYN YOUR ON THE JOB YOU CAN'T HAVE ANY CRUSHES!! "Mads?" omg he used my nickame.

"Oh yeah, right, sorry I was thinking. I've got around 9 million and Sofs got 6." I replied. My face turning red from embarrassment.
