FOR A moment, the two stood still, unsure of what they'd heard; it'd gone silent again, nothing but the whistling of the wind, Cassandra was beginning to think they'd both somehow misheard. Until they heard the scream again.

"Where the hell is that coming from?" Cassandra rushed out, looking frantically around their surroundings. The scream sounded close, like it hadn't had to travel far to be heard.

"I'm not sure..." He turned to look back at the old map, not that it would be much use, but he recognised the mass of space where the lodge would be. "It can't be from the lodge, it's too far behind us, it sounds like it's coming from in fr—"

There was another scream, somehow more pained than before, it sounded closer. The two looked at each other, eyes frantic with concern; when another scream hit them, the two began to run toward it.

"Do you even know where we're going!?" Cassandra screamed over the wind, she kept her eyes on the ground, fearful of tripping over loose roots or hidden rocks.

"No!" Mike yelled back, he was ahead of her by a few steps, he looked back to make sure she was close.

Mixed within the screams, was yelling, concerned, and horrified yelling, that Cassandra painfully realised belonged to Will, meaning the screams had to of been Jessica's. Her hands clenched as she continued to run, she hadn't even thought about what they could be screaming about, an animal must've hurt one of them, her chest tightened at the thought.

"It's Jessica!" Cassandra yelled, looking up at Mike, his left arm was up in front of him, shielding him from the snow, possible branches, and wind.

"William! Help me!" Jessica's guttural yells were almost tangible, it was like she was right in front of them, yet they couldn't see her.

With her eyes back on the ground, Cassandra continued to run, until she ran into Mike's outstretched arm. He pulled her back, keeping his arm out, had he not been there, she would've ran off of a steep drop, the bottom of which, littered with rocks.

"Christ on a catwalk! You gotta look where you're going!" Mike yelled breathlessly, he looked down at her, Cassandra had gone pale, her eyes were wide, and she was breathing heavily. "You okay?"

She tightly blinked before meeting his gaze. "Ye-yeah- thank you..."

He nodded and crouched until he was sat down, the drop was less severe from this angle, but he was still cautious to go down. He looked back to Cassandra and raised his hand, signalling her to wait.

Cassandra stepped back, watching as Mike carefully manoeuvred down, her heart raced against her chest, Jessica's screams hadn't let up, her voice was harrowing, the pain of whatever she was going through, clear and tortuous.

"Okay!" Mike yelled from below. "Your turn! It's not that bad, promise!"

Cassandra bit her lip, and sat down at the edge of the drop, and swallowed thickly, glancing at the rocks directly below her, she then looked to Mike, who was watching her with nervous care.

"Cassandra, Jessica needs us!" He yelled up, sensing her trepidation.

Cassandra nodded; Mike was right, she needed to hurry. Cautiously, Cassandra stuck her boot out to a sticking out rock and stepped onto it, she breathed in short breathes as her foot landed on another rock. As she looked to where she should move next the rock under her foot un-wedged itself from the wall; she let out a yelp of surprise as she felt herself fall, her eyes shut with the anticipation of falling, but she never did.
