In the vast, ethereal realm of Starpack, where the stars themselves seemed woven into the fabric of existence, four ancient wolves gathered around a shimmering pool that reflected visions from the mortal world below. Midnight, a sleek, dark-furred wolf with eyes like two silver moons, shifted impatiently, his tail lashing behind him.
"So, is there a reason why you called this meeting?" Midnight asked, his voice carrying a hint of annoyance. "I was in the middle of border patrol."
Akumu, an old alpha with a coat peppered in silver and scars of battles long past, sighed deeply. "It has been several eons since we gathered, Midnight. And this meeting is important. Unfortunately, none of the others are around." He cast a wistful look at the sky. "I was hoping Icestorm would be here, but since her mate and pups joined Starpack after an ambush on their camp, she has been... otherwise occupied."
"Midnight, if the meeting weren't important, Aku wouldn’t have called us here," interjected Luna, a graceful she-wolf with a luminous coat that seemed to capture the light of the stars. "You need to learn to have patience."
Midnight let out a soft huff, turning his gaze away.
Aurora, her fur a beautiful blend of twilight colors, smiled softly at Akumu. "It truly has been eons, but I’m glad to see you're doing well, Akumu."
The old alpha nodded, giving her a warm look before returning to a more serious tone. "I may be an old wolf, but I'm still holding up." His eyes, deep pools of wisdom and resilience, met each wolf in turn. "I called this meeting to address the situation with Stormpack — the issue we discussed some time ago. As it stands, they have no alpha to lead them, and that rogue who once tried to take control has returned." His voice darkened. "Something needs to be done about this."
Midnight's eyes widened, and he tilted his head, clearly troubled. "He came back? Starpack must have sent him if he thinks he’s worthy to lead Stormpack, right? Isn’t that usually how it works?"
Aurora shook her head, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "It would work that way if we had chosen him. But the truth is, none of us know who this wolf is, or why he has returned. Starpack hasn’t sent him, and that worries me."
The wolves shared a tense silence, until Luna spoke up, her voice soft yet steady. "I am very close friends with a wolf in Stormpack. I can visit him in the Dream Plane and ask for information. Perhaps he’ll know who this rogue is and why he’s come back."
Akumu nodded approvingly, a spark of hope igniting in his old eyes. "Once you gather the information, come to me. We need to understand this threat if we are to protect Stormpack."
With a solemn bow, Luna closed her eyes, preparing to enter the Dream Plane.
