Agent Stone was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the doctor with his latte freshly made in a teacup with a cream foam sketch of each other's faces when a bald man with an enormous mustache stepped into the cafe. Stone could barely contain his excitement, recognizing the man's sharp chin.

"Doctor. It's really you. You look... different."

Robotnik grinned with pride. "Papa's got a brand new 'stache."

He did a spin showing off his new look, ending with a jazzy finish. "Ha!"

Stone beamed and as he came around with"I knew it. I knew it! I knew you'd come back, sir,"  I never stopped steaming your Austrian goat's milk."

Robotnik graciously took the cup and sipped just as Knuckles entered through the open door. The doctor smacked his lips. "Could use some mushroom." Stone furrowed his brow slightly, then noticed Knuckles.

"You brought something," he assumed. "Some kind of, uh... space porcupine."

"Porcupine? I am an echidna!" Knuckles proclaimed pridefully, offended being called such a thing. "Trained since birth in all forms of lethal combat, destined to restore honor to my tribe, and willing to destroy anything that gets in my way."

Stone pressed his lips in a flat line. "Welcome to the team."

He bent down and offered his hand; Knuckles immediately gripped it, dislocating it and making Stone scream as he fell to his knees. Robotnik chuckled as he bent  to Stone's level.

"That means he trusts you, Stone." Stone agonizingly nodded in understanding. Now, for Robotnik to begin Phase 2 of his new evil plan. "Now let's... rrrenovate this dump!" he exclaimed with a twirl of his finger.

Ignoring his dislocated hand, Stone looked up to the ceiling and spoke in a loud, clear voice, "Latte with steamed Austrian goat milk!"

His voice triggered an audio sensor, causing the walls and cupboards of the café to shift, making room for laser supercomputers and storage walls for drones. The front counter transformed into a holographic table made of glass, and the menu billboard behind dissolved into a giant supercomputer bearing Robotnik's latest mustachioed logo. Robotnik looked at it all in delight as he began to scheme his next move.
