Chapter six

   "What,I have never considered you to be my wife I have no option than to be friendly to you, so you better not fall for me".he said with a stern look.I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
  "But you where smiling with her just now,I like you"I said calmly.
  "You must be sick upstairs infact I can't deal with this drama of yours,I don't even like you and I will never okay now I am leaving".he said and he left. My heart shattered into pieces. However I wasn't going to allow him ruin my day. I had so much fun even though I wasn't happy deep down. I stayed till evening and I took a cab home.When I got home, Jayden was seated with Eric they where watching football.
  "Good evening my dear".Eric said smiling.Jayden ignored me.
  "Good evening sir".I said faking a smile.
"Come join us".he said.
"I have test tomorrow,so I am afraid I have to decline".I said
  "But how can both of you be so serious".He said
"Okay bye".I said smiling and left.
  I woke up very early prayed, cleaned and went to the kitchen, it was French's birthday today so I had decided make cookies and cake for him.
  "Happy birthday french".I said smiling it was on speaker because I was mixing the flour.
"My dear thanks,so how are you".he said
"I am fine and you".I said Jayden came out of his room.
"I am good,I have missed you so much dear especially your hands".he said
"Me too".I said Jayden was busy preparing his own meal.
  "So I have planned a mini vacation,it's just a week for all my friends and I would want you to come but I hope your husband doesn't mind"he said
  "Of course he won't mind,when do we leave".I said calmly
"Hope your husband doesn't treat you badly,if he does then you have to report him to the police or you can get married to me".he said Jayden ended the call.
  "What's was that for".I said angrily.
  "So this is what you do behind my back,you cheat me with this brat,Marie did the same thing she left me for her lover how could you".he screamed I have never seen him so angry before.
  "How could you say this to me,French is my friend but he is a better person than you".I yelled,he slapped me.
  "How dare you say that to my face,I don't want you to ever repeat this again and you aren't going anywhere, you want to meet your lover right no problem".he said angrily he took me to his room he pushed me on the floor,Fear gripped me.he hit the hell out of me I begged him but he continued to beat me and then he locked me in his closet.
  I stayed there till evening without food nor water and then he opened it.
  "I am sorry".he said smiling as he knelt in front of me.
  "I hate you,let me go you monster".i yelled and the he held my mouth.
  "Please for give me I am really sorry".He said I don't know why I felt sorry.
  "It's fine can I go now".I said crying.
"Of course".he said he carried me to my room.
  Now I faced the mirror I couldn't even recognize my own face, I didn't understand what had happened.I  wore my nightwear  and then I lied down. I was about to sleep when he came in. He looked normal but I was still scared of him. So I sat up immediately.
    "Are you still awake".he said smiling as he sat on the bed
"I was about to sleep".I said calmly
"I am sorry about today,I didn't mean to hit you I don't know why this keeps happening".he said as he looked at his hands.
  "We can go to the hospital".I said
"No".he said he was afraid.
  "It's fine okay".I said as I hugged him.
"Thanks".he said but he refused to let me go.
"Professor it's okay".I said calmly as I pat his back gently.
  "I am sorry,I didn't mean to".he cried as he hugged me tightly
"It's fine professor okay I am here with you".I said calmly as I pay his back.he cried his heart out and then he slept off.I had woken up early because I had missed my classes Jayden was still sleeping. I went to school,I was wearing a long gown and I covered my neck with a veil.
   Classes ended at 6pm,I was so tired.I was walking to my car when I saw miss Olivia's car.
   "Good evening ma".I said as I entered.
  "Good evening child".she said as she hugged me.
"How have you been".I said smiling she removed the veil from my neck and she burst into tears.
  "J....ayden did this right".she said
"Yes".i nodded.
"You shouldn't go home then,please child I made a huge mistake by allowing you to marry him".she cried I knew something was fishy.
  "Why would you say that".I said
"Child listen to me,if you don't want to stay with me you can go back to Nigeria or better still run away". She said.
  "He is your son why are you saying this".I said
"I will tell you,Jayden suffered from abuse when he was little I had no time for him because of work, and then his nanny was abusing him sexually and physically,she would beat him up. She did that for 3years.i couldn't forgive myself, it led  to trauma he had a deep grudge for women also he started having nightmares,I watched him suffer,I took to the best hospitals and psychiatrists but it didn't help. Until he met Marie his first wife everything  changed he became happy and then she poisoned him,he was hospitalized for almost a year and ran away with her lover,since then it had gotten worse  but I thought you would be different but I can't allow you to endure this".she cried my heart almost fell Jayden was going through a lot.
  "He almost killed the last girl he married,I am afraid of his anger".she said
  "Ma,I will help him so don't worry okay let me go now he must be worried".I said and I left my heart raced.i couldn't think straight I managed to get home safely. As soon as I entered the house,I saw Jayden.
  "You are back I missed you".he said as he hugged me.
  "I didn't see you at school today".I said anxiously.
  "Well I decided that I should make it up to you after what I did yesterday".he said smiling
  "It's fine okay am not angry".I said
"You love me don't you".he said calmly as he held my hands.
  "Well I have never been in love".I stuttered he carried me.
  "Let's go consummate our marriage".he said smiling as he walked into his room.fear gripped me I wasn't ready at for this I had to look for way.
  "Please not today I am still on my period".I lied
"But today it's the fifth day".he said as he dropped me on his bed.I was so bad at lying.
  "Then I will wait till tomorrow."he said smiling.
  "Okay then".I said
"How did your classes go".he said
"It was fine,I have so many assignments I have to submit tomorrow so I have to finish my assignments".I said as I stood up.
  "Okay no problem,let me make you something".He said smiling.
   I went into my room,I freshened up and I started my assignments. Jayden entered
  "I made you something very delicious".he said smiling
  "I have to finish this professor".I complained.
"Okay then my student eat a little".he said smiling and he left.
"Okay".I said I ate very little and I went back to my assignments and slept off.
  I woke early as usual and I left.
I was so tired I didn't see Jayden in school,I went home in the evening I made sure I came in at 7pm.
  But I wasn't lucky enough Jayden was waiting for me.
  "Good evening professor".I said calmly
"Where are you coming from".he said angrily.
"From school".I said calmly.
"Okay now let's get down to business".he said as he held my hand he dragged me to the room.
  "I am tired professor".I said fear gripped me
"But you promised,you said you like me right if you don't divorce me you will continue to suffer".He said calmly.
  "Let me help you Jayden".I cried.
