Jungkook left the resort early in the morning because he was happy to go explore the forest. That’s why he left the resort...
Now his family was waiting for him at the table to have breakfast... but Jungkook had already left; they didn’t know, and he didn’t inform them. They sent Hobi to Jungkook’s room.
After five minutes, Hobi came towards them with a note.
Hobi: “He already left for the forest,” he said.
Juni: “This boy,” she sighed.
Haneul: “He never listens to us.”
Sung-min (Hobi’s dad): “Okay, okay, brother, leave him. He really wanted to go, and you all know how Kook loves nature, so let him enjoy it.”
They nodded their heads and started eating their breakfast…
Hobi was lying on the bed and grabbed his phone to call his girlfriend, and she answered.
Hobi: “Hello, darling.”
Lisa: “Hello, Hoba.”
Hobi: “What are you doing?”
He started talking with her for about two hours.
Lisa: “Babe, I sent my picture. Can you check the dress I wore and tell me how it was?” He said okay to her.
He opened the chat, but there was also a message from Jungkook.
From Kook: “Hyung, I’m going to the forest; please don’t worry about me. I already kept a note in my room. But I had to inform you, so that’s why I messaged you. Bye, Hyung.”
6:00 a.m.
When he saw the time, his eyes widened; that meant his brother had left for the forest literally six hours ago.
He tried to call Jungkook, but his phone was off. He ran to his parents’ room and informed them about Kook; now they all went to Haneul and Juni’s room. He knocked on the door, and soon they opened it. They wanted to say that Kook hadn’t returned to the resort, but then Haneul’s phone rang—it was his secretary.
Haneul: “Hello.”
Haneul: “What? You’re lost? OH GOD, YOU LITERALLY LOST THE DEAL!” he yelled.
Haneul: “I’m coming.” He hung up and looked at Hobi.
Hobi: “Dad, Kook left for the forest at 6:00 in the morning, and he hasn’t come back to the resort yet.”
Haneul: “WHAT?!” he shouted.
Hobi: “Yes, Dad, he sent a message before he left; I just saw it. I really don’t know what to do.”
Haneul: “Wait, I’ll call Kook.” He called Jungkook, but again his phone was off. He was about to call again, but the resort manager came to them and said a man was calling for them. They rushed outside and saw a man standing there; they went towards him.
???: “Hello, are you Jeon Haneul?”
Haneul: “Yes! Who are you?”
???: “I’m a forest officer, and I found a phone in the forest. I told the resort manager, and they said your son went to the forest, so I came here to return the phone. And please tell him not to go deep into the forest again—it’s restricted.”
Haneul and his family stood frozen, realising their son hadn’t returned to the resort; they were tense.
Juni: “S-sir, my son hasn’t returned yet,” she said, scared, feeling something was wrong.
Officer: “That’s impossible. I thoroughly checked the forest; I didn’t find or see your son.”
They were talking outside, but suddenly they heard a noise. They turned to see something—an animal hiding in the tree—but couldn’t clearly identify it. Then, they suddenly saw the animal’s face—terrifying and covered in blood. They were scared stiff. Hobi, Juni, and Eun screamed, but the animal ran away quickly.
Officer: “I think your son, ummm—sorry, sir.” He looked down, knowing that once someone crossed the restricted line, they never returned. The restricted forest was filled with wild animals, and people were forbidden to go that deep.
The family began crying; they never imagined their one and only son might be gone. It was cruel, wasn’t it?
Juni: “NO!! My son is alive. I know he will come back to me. I think he’s just somewhere around here. Yes, he’s just somewhere, and he’ll return. We’ll wait for my baby,” she cried, unable to accept the truth. The family cried too. The officer bowed and left, apologising again.
They waited for Jungkook that day, standing outside—but there was no sign of him. One day turned into one week, and the family finally accepted that Jungkook was no longer with them. They cried hard and left the place with broken hearts.
The whole family was shattered without Jungkook. Every day, his mother went to his room to wake him up, only to end up crying. His father, in the office, would order two cups of coffee and call Jungkook’s number, still switched off, and he too would end up crying. The entire family was broken without Jungkook.
They couldn’t accept the truth that their only son was no longer with them. Haneul continued his business with a broken heart; Juni stayed home, surrounded by memories of her son, and Hobi went to the U.S., also broken without his brother…
