Reader's PoV:

Sitting down on the bench in-front of your locker, in the locker room after a very long shift, you were looking forward to going out with Emily for dinner and drinks, just the two of you.

You both needed to unwind a little since you're not really making much headway with this case, the only things you have learned is that your suspect is most likely from England or Scotland, and the grey pick-up truck wasn't just reported stolen, it had been stolen from California a three to four-hour drive from Las Vegas.

Agent Hotch had wanted to take the private jet as it would be quicker, Catherine on the other hand informed them of a diner along the highway route between Las Vegas and California, and had suggested that they make a trip out to the diner as our suspect might have stopped to use the rest room or to get something to eat.

Catherine had told Captain Jim Brass that we would make the trip together, you knew what Catherine was trying to do, luckily for you that agent Hotch had stepped in, ordering agent Morgan to go with Catherine instead, you felt a hint of jealousy when agent Morgan playfully flirted with Catherine, Catherine didn't flirt back she just gave him one of her sexy smiles, she has always loved the attention she gets from both men and women.

Catherine had always been loyal to you until about a year and a half ago, you shake your head as you didn't want to think about them together or anyone else Catherine may have cheated on you with, even though Catherine promised you there had been no one else, you had wanted to believe her, and you had tried to put it behind you, unfortunately you no longer trusted her.

You looked around the locker room and smiled sadly to yourself as it had been in this very room where you and Catherine had shared your first kiss, as you think about that first kiss you feel your eyes become teary at the memory.

Flashback:

You are in the locker room putting on your jacket getting ready to go home, you have been avoiding Catherine for the last three nights on shift, ever since her date, the first two shifts had been easy to avoid Catherine as the both of you had been working on two different murder cases.

Tonight, however had been a little more difficult to avoid Catherine, well you wasn't really avoiding Catherine just keeping your distance, because the first time she walked into your lab to talk to you, you make the excuse that you were just on your way to get some test results and walked out of your lab without another word or waiting for Catherine to reply, the second time tonight when Catherine had once again tried to talk to you, and lucky for you, your phone had started ringing, you answer it, holding up your index finger in the air gesturing to Catherine to give you a minute before you once again walked away without a word to her.

The third time you had seen Catherine walking down the corridor, so you quickly gathered up some papers before rushing out of your lab again, you have walked into Grissom office as you needed to talk to him anyway.

You knew you couldn't avoid Catherine forever, that you would have to talk to her eventually, you just had no idea what you were going to tell her, it isn't like you could tell her you have feelings towards her and that her going on a date with someone who wasn't you, hurt like hell, you decide it best that you just try and come up with something to tell Catherine tonight at home.

With that in mind, you grab your handbag and close your locker, you turn around to leave, only to find Catherine in the doorway with her hands on hips.

"Care to explain, why you have been avoiding me?" Catherine asks looking more hurt than angry.

"I hadn't been avoiding you, just busy," you tell her as you walk towards her, trying to step around her, only to have Catherine block you from leaving.

"Don't lie to me, you have been avoiding me and I want to know why? Have I done something to upset you?" Catherine asks lowering her arms to her sides.

"Of course not, Catherine your being ridiculous," you tell her trying to sidestep around her, once again being blocked by Catherine.

"I'm not being ridiculous, you are avoiding me, and I want to know why," Catherine says taking a gentle yet firm hold of your hips, guiding you backwards until you were pinned up against the lockers with no means of escape.

"Alright fine, I've been avoiding you, you happy now?" you asked in a sharp tone of voice, hoping that if you get Catherine into some kind of argument, she might just leave and forget all about you trying to avoid her.

"Why?" Catherine asks with narrowed eyes.

"Just drop it Cat," you say still with a sharp tone of voice.

"I won't drop it," Catherine says pushing her body against yours, "not until you tell me the reason why you have been avoiding me," Catherine warned me, I knew there was no getting out of it now, because Cathrine is way too stubborn to just let it go.

"Do you really want to know?" I asked her, trying to buy myself a little more time.

"Just tell me, so that I can make this right between us, because I care way too much for you to have you just walk out of my life," Catherine tells you with a vulnerability that you hadn't seen before, at seeing Catherine's vulnerable side and without thinking you threw your arms around Catherine's neck pulling her into a kiss, you hadn't expected Catherine to kiss you back, but she did, with her hands still on your hips Catherine push's her body into you even more, when the need for air became an issue, you pulled back from the kiss, resting your foreheads together, trying to catch your breath.

"I believe I understand why you have been avoiding me, however, why don't you let me take you out for a drink and you can tell me again why you have been avoiding me, just so there are no misunderstandings," Catherine says with a warm smile.

"it's quite simple really, I have developed feelings for you and hated that you when on a date the other night with someone who wasn't me, I didn't want to hear about your date the other night, so decided to avoid you," you explained to Catherine.

"That was stupid of you, if it makes you feel any better, I spent the whole night thinking about you, wishing it was you I was on a date with," Catherine tells you as she pulls her head back slightly so that she could look you directly in the eyes.

"we are a right pair," you said with a chuckle.

End of flashback:

You let out a heavy sigh, you both had been so happy, that night when Catherine had taken you out for drinks, you have explained everything to her in detail, Catherine had laughed, not at you but at how ridiculous the two of you were being, as Catherine never had a date that night, she had gone out with an old friend of hers, who had been in Vegas on business, she had only told you that she had a date because she had also developed feelings towards you and wanted to see how you would reacted at hearing she had a date.

To say that you had both been complete idiots would be an understatement, after that night both you and Catherine were more open with your feeling for one another, Cathrine had wanted to take you back to her place that night after drinks, you knew what would happen if you had agreed to go back to Catherine's that night, you didn't want to just jump into bed with Catherine straight away, you had wanted to take things slow between the two of you, Catherine had agree to take things slowly, you have dated for three months before winding up in bed together.

"Hey , you ready?" Emily asked pulling you out of your thoughts.

"As ready as I will ever be," you tell Emily with a smile, trying your best to look cheerful and not sad because of the thoughts of you and Catherine, standing up, you open your locker, grabbing your bag and left the locker room with Emily by your side.
