In the morning after breakfast, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan spend time training Li XiWang and Prince Wu. Lan Zhan teaches the Prince about meditation and how to strengthen his core, and running through basic development skills.

Wei Ying turns what was supposed to be a flying on swords lesson into a how-to-perform-tricks lesson, because he said it was boring, otherwise.

So they're shocked to find Porta Daven waiting for them on the edge of the training ground, a few hours later.

"Can I talk to you?" They speak to both Lan Zhan and Wei Ying.

"Yeah, of course. Children?" Wei Ying turns to all three. "Keep training and we'll see you at lunchtime. Dining hall or Jingshi?" That last question is for Lan Zhan.

"Jingshi. It is better for the Prince. Less exposure."

"Fine, then the Jingshi, it is." Wei Ying waves even as Porta Daven grabs both of them and teleports them into the Emperor's bedroom. The first thing he does is activate the silencing talismans.

The Emperor is looking much, much better today. He's even sitting at the little table with regal robes on, waiting for them. When he sees Wei Ying and Lan Zhan, he stands up and bows.

"I understand that I have you to thank for saving mine and my son's life. You have my unending gratitude for this and your continuing generosity towards my family and my supporters. A-Pei has told me everything. If there is anything I can ever do to repay you, please do not hesitate to inform me."

They bow back.

"His Highness is too gracious," Lan Zhan murmurs.

"We can get back to you on that one," Wei Ying replies, making the Emperor smile.

"So please, let's sit down and talk. I think I have about an hour before I will need to rest. Don't tell the Healer," he whispers that last bit, checking on the door.

Wei Ying has to grin at that. Model patient indeed!

"But, there's also something really important we have to ask you, and since Hao Bai isn't here, I'll do it. Why has the Cheng family been denied access to the Royal Cemetery? They haven't been allowed to go and visit, to pay their respects to their husband and father since he was murdered." Wei Ying is being as upfront as he can. He knows it's bordering on being rude, but it's such a ridiculous rule!

"I am still very upset with how they murdered my friend. And it WAS murder." The Emperor's hand shakes as he pours out tea for them all.

General Huang takes over for him.

"The rule about burying close family and friends in the Royal Cemetery is an old one, but denying access is a calculated strategic move by the First Prince and my now ex-Advisors. I believe they concocted it immediately after killing him, just to thwart my plans."

His dark eyes glint dangerously with anger.

"Sir, please calm yourself. This meeting should stick to pertinent topics." Tang Pei interjects meekly. "The Healer said strong emotions would be detrimental to your recovery."

"A-Pei, thank you for reminding me." The Emperor is kind and polite towards him, and it's nice to see. He takes a few deep breaths to do exactly that.

It's a shame his oldest son is such a horrible person, Wei Ying tells Lan Zhan through their mental connection. This man is so good, righteousness running through his veins, and look how the Universe rewarded him for it.

The Universe gave him two sons for a reason, Lan Zhan replies, putting his warm palm on Wei Ying's knee as a warning to curb his passionate view.

"As soon as I am reinstated, the Cheng family will be allowed into the Cemetery to pay their respects." The Emperor concludes.
