— JENNIE POV —

Lisa and I finally arrived in Korea and we were now standing in line for customs waiting our turn.

I was constantly checking my phone in case my mom texted me saying where she was. But nothing yet.

I think Lisa picked up on my uneasiness because she was constantly asking if I was okay. It was getting a little annoying but I knew she means well.

I reassured her and tried my best to make conversation.

As soon as we were cleared, I darted towards the exit and called my mom. Lisa was following closely behind me while still keeping her distance.

My mom wasn't answering. This isn't like her. If she's ever late she lets me know. She said she'd be here—

"Hey Jen is that her?"

I turn towards the direction Lisa's looking at and finally see my mom in the crowd holding up a sign that says:

"Welcome home Jennie"

I drop everything and run to her.

These past few moths have gone by so fast and I've been so busy with school, I didn't realize how much I missed her until now.

Even though we called each other everyday, I hug her as if it's been years. At least that's what it feels like.

"I thought you forgot or got called into work"

"What? why? I told you I'd be here sweetie"

Neither one of us dared to let go.

"You weren't answering your phone," my voice quivered slightly.

"Aw baby I'm sorry. I was so excited to see you. I had your sign and I must've forgot my phone in the car," she patted my back, "but don't worry. I'm here. Is this pretty girl your friend?"

Lisa.

I got so caught up in the moment I forgot she was here.

Lisa was standing behind us at a distance looking at us with an awkward but endearing look on her face. She was carrying both our bags since I left it all behind.

"Oh yes!" she came to us, "Sorry thank you"

I motioned to get my bags from her.

"It's alright, I got 'em" Lisa smiled, "I'm okay."

"Mom this is Lisa. She's my.... roommate."

Lisa bowed slightly and shook my mom's hand.

"Hello i'm Lisa. Jennie's friend," Lisa clarified, "Thank you so much for opening your home to me and having me for Christmas. It means a lot."

"Oh you're so beautiful look at you. Jennie failed to mention how pretty you are," my mom was in awe of Lisa, which can you blame her? All Lisa could do was blush, "Of course honey any friend of Jennie is welcome to our home, anytime."

I realized we were standing in the middle of an extremely busy airport, "should we get going?"

"Yes yes! Let's get you girls home so you can rest. You two must be exhausted and starved. Those airplane meals are just never filling and boy is it hard to get a good nights sleep on a plane."

Lisa and i looked at eachother and laughed.

Only us two knowing I slept the whole time and only woke up to eat. Lisa on the other hand did neither, she must be dead.
