Two days after Christmas, the young girls were now on their way back to Los Angeles.
The rest of their stay was uneventful. Jennie was still upset with her mom for leaving her alone but she was able to put that aside and enjoy their time together. She had Lisa to thank for pushing her to put her anger on the back burner and spend time with her mom since she wasn't sure when they'd see each other again.
Jennie was grateful that she had Lisa there with her and finally didn't spend a Christmas alone. Although she had to admit she felt sad too.
After learning what Lisa went through the last time she was in Korea, a small part of Jennie felt guilty for bringing her along. Hearing how the relationship with Lisa and her mom is, Jennie wished she could've been more sensitive to how this trip could have possibly triggered her.
Regardless of everything, Jennie sincerely hoped that she made the trip worth it and somehow put a blanket of good memories over all the bad ones. Korea was so special to Jennie, she wanted to be able to share some of that with Lisa.
The roles were reversed on the flight home. This time Lisa was the one who slept for the entirety of the flight meanwhile Jennie was restless and hadn't slept one bit.
Her mind was occupied by a ton of things. She spent most of her time lost in deep thought.
She was on her way back to LA, which meant that everything was somehow supposed to go back to 'normal.'
Except everything is very much NOT normal.
Jennie and Lisa have shared several kisses at this point. Being in their own little bubble on this trip was perfect. It was just them two.
But coming back home meant that all the other pieces in this complicated game are coming in to play. It's not just them anymore.
Jennie is going to have to see Tae and put in action all that she's practiced and learned with Lisa. While also managing her feelings towards the brunette.
Gosh! This was so messy.
Maybe this is what Jennie needs. She needs this chance to cast her feelings aside and focus solely on Tae and remember who she was doing this all for in the first place.
Since things are going back to normal, there was no doubt in her mind that Lisa was going to do the same.
Jennie was protecting her heart by telling herself that regardless of the time they spent together, Lisa was still going to have other girls. She needed to keep her guard up and not get caught in the mess of it all.
They hadn't kissed since Christmas and that might have worked in their favor. The more they kissed, the deeper these feelings could get.
The puffy cheeked girl was struggling to manage the internal battle going on in her mind.
On one hand, spending this time with Lisa was amazing. She got to know her on such a deeper level... in so many ways. But she's glad that Lisa was able to open up to her. In the process, she also realized that this whole contract thing was going to be hard since Lisa made it impossible not to fall for her. Coming back home was going to push those feelings aside and bring Tae in. Her mind will be full of him all the while Lisa will be busy with her girls.
Just as Jennie was feeling a sense of relief for somewhat easing her mind, Lisa stirred awake with only one hour left until landing.
