CHAPTER 22: WANDER

— JENNIE POV —

I had a lot planned for today. I wanted to take Lisa everywhere.

Show her all my favorite places.

Eat my favorite foods.

I just mainly want her to have a good time and enjoy herself.

Lisa has been quiet since we got here. Maybe she regrets coming?

I hope I can change her mind.

Starting with today.

Here is the plan.

Tomorrow is Christmas so shopping is going to have to wait. That also means that all the usual tourist attractions are going to be filled with even more people. We want to avoid the holiday crowds.

I think today will be all about hidden gems.

I had been thinking and planning this day since Lisa mentioned coming with me. It's no secret something must've happened the last time Lisa was here, and since I don't want to pry I will just focus on making our trip memorable.

"So where to Jennie?" Lisa asked as she got into the car and put her seatbelt on.

My mom was off for the next few days so she let me borrow her car. I am Lisa's personal chauffeur and tour guide.

"Hmm do you really want to know? Or would you like to be surprised?" I asked her while turning into the street. It was only fair since I was the one deciding everything. She should have a say in something.

"Something tells me even if you did tell me I still wouldn't know what it was. So i'll let you surprise me"

"You're going to love it," I said stealing a glance at Lisa and reminding myself to keep my eyes on the road.

She was distracting.

We drove for about 30 minutes before we arrived at our first destination.

"I figured you might be hungry," I parked and we walked around the corner to some food stalls, "You can't come to Korea and not eat here. It's a right of passage. My mom used to bring me here all the time when I was a kid. It quickly became one of my favorite places, I just had to bring you here too."

Lisa's eyes lit up at the sight of all the delicious food.

We tried everything.

Dumplings. Tteokbokki. Hotteok. Galbi.

Whatever Lisa pointed at we tried.

We ate until we both could not fit anything else.

"Jennie do you hate me or are you just trying to make me fat?" Lisa looked like she was having trouble walking, "I'm going to return 20 pounds heavier."

We both laughed.

"You ready for the best part?"
