Chapter 8:
The police arrived, Officer Lee came and talk to me." So Lionel, can you describe the vehicle the suspects used to escape in? Take your time to think, think clearly.
Me: "Officer you can also ask my friend, he might have remembered the license plate of the van, I only remembered it was a Black Toyota Hi-Ace (that is the most common van I see around my neighbourhood.)"
Jordan: "I'm sorry Lionel and Officer Lee I have no idea what those 4 digits were..."
Officer:" Can you boys bring me to the location of the kidnap? We can check the CCTV cameras there and hopefully find the kidnappers vehicle number and trace them down."
*Awhile later we reached the car park and started to find CCTV's *
Jordan found the CCTV and officer and I rushed over and we went to the shopping centre's CCTV room, as I was familiar with this complex, I lead the way to the CCTV room. Just then I realised my phone was not with me but I told myself finding noona would be the paramount objective now.
"Hi I am Officer Lee from the police force, can we have excess to the CCTV footage for camera number........'' Officer got the footages and we went to Starbucks to wait for the reply from his superiors. There would also be more reinforcements to come and aid this case. Sigh.... What if something already happened to noona?? Sigh if I only knew where noona was taken to........
We settled at Starbucks, I quickly made coffee for Jordan and Officer Lee as I hope it would boost their energy for what's about to come. It's been 3 hours after I last seen noona, now more high ranking police officers arrived. The more officers I see, the more I think about noona's safety........
Just then, I reached my hand into my right pocket on my pants to find my phone, wait, where is my phone? I frantically searched my bag, but to no avail. I asked Jordan then "Hey dude did you see my phone?" I didn't expect an answer from him so I continued thoroughly searching my bag.
"Lionel! Wasn't Jessica hold your phone before she got taken away? Im sure she was holding it!"
Yeah, come to think of it she really borrowed my phone....
Just then, Officer Lee, whom overheard our conversation, gave us a THUNDERSTRUCK reply: "Wait, Lionel your mobile phone is with Ms Jessica?"
: "Yea she was holding my phone before she got captured"
"That's great! You might just have made our job easier! Hopefully we can use the GPS and track your phone's location, please use my phone and call your mobile phone. Its location would pop up on our GPS map (on the laptop) if the phone is switched on."
I immediately did what he instructed me to do....
"Sir we've got it! The phone is stationary at Tuas Avenue 2 warehouse number 28"
In a few seconds, the whole scene in front of my eyes became the typical Hong Kong police dramas you would have seen on TV, Officers wearing their bulletproof vests and calling for backup...
Jordan and I were given vests to, we rode our motorbikes behind the police fleet
"noona please be alright... I'm gonna whack those son of b****es who did that to you! "I thought to myself.
We arrived at the warehouse, Officer Lee told us to stay at where we arrived and gave us a walkie talkie in case we would see the kidnappers when they escape from our direction. When we arrived, there were 2 vans, a lorry (the smallest kind of Lorries. Not those carrying containers) and 2 cars there, so the officers assumed that there were at least 15 men involved in this case, it's a very organised crime.
