AUTHOR'S POV
Timothee carried his sister out of the castle and into the snowy village. His steps slow and sure. The wound was still a pain in the ass, but he endured it. Despite the cold wind seeping through the cuts on his clothes.
"Why did I put you through this?" He says to his sleeping sister. "Not the kind of big brother you probably thought I was, huh?"
A noise came behind a couple of trees. Timothee stopped in his tracks and spotted a Lycan staring at them with its mouth wide open. It just finished feasting on fresh prey. His heart pumped faster than usual. In his state, he can barely carry his sister straight, a few Lycans are too much right now.
Many more showed up, since some are howling to call them. The siblings are practically surrounded. Timothee's eyes shifted from one Lycan to another, especially those taunting him like wild animals intimidating their prey. He fixed Y/n's position and carried her like a sack of potato. Timothee's eyes turned into slits and with his free hand, he was about to turn and release his uroboros when he heard a voice.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
(Earlier)
Jia climbed down the tree and landed on the snow butt first. She heard the sisters scream so she ran before anyone could follow her. She didn't know they couldn't. Jia didn't look back as she sprinted into the woods.
I should get help! Y/n is in trouble!
"Ow!"
Jia fell to the ground when she bumped into something hard. She rubbed her forehead and looked up to see a Lycan growling at her. Saliva pouring out of the sides of its mouth. Before it pounces onto the poor kid, a strong force sent the Lycan hurling towards a tree before dropping to the ground with a yelp.
"Don't just stand there, kid!"
Jia stood up and had to raise her head all the way up to look at the himbo man carrying a large hammer over his shoulder and a cigar on the other hand. He puffs some smoke into the cold air and crouched to her level.
"Have you eaten?" He asked.
Jia shakes her head. Clearly forgotten that she almost died a second ago.
"Come with me."
Meanwhile
Jake explored the surrounding houses one by one, out of boredom. The lycans were hiding in plain sight, probably still spooked after what Timothee did to their leader, Urias. And without those things creeping around, the whole village was quiet. Eerie. The only thing you can hear is the howling of the cold winter breeze and the crunch of the snow beneath your feet. Jake whistled as he looked around for any signs of danger. Then he stopped when his radio (that Chris gave the three of them since they got an extra) blinked red, indicating someone was on the line.
"Jake." He says as he brings the radio to his face.
"Jia's not here." Said Ada.
Jake sighed. "Where in the castle?"
"Basement. Flooded goddamn cellar. Few cages are closed, one's open."
"Shit. Does Timothee know of this?"
"No. I haven't heard from him in a while. He's up there. Hell, who knows what's up there."
Jake pressed the bridge of his nose. "Keep looking. She could've gotten out or else her body should be in there."
