Gone forever

Beneath the vast, eternal sky,
Where whispers of the lost pass by,
The final truth we all must meet,
In death's embrace, both bitter, sweet.

A silent shroud, a quiet end,
To every twist, and turn, and bend,
Life's fragile thread, at last, gives way,
As night succumbs to endless day.

No more the pain, no more the strife,
No burden of the mortal life,
A peaceful calm, a gentle rest,
Upon the universe's broad chest.

For death is not an end, but change,
A cosmic dance, both wild and strange,
Where energy finds new form, new birth,
In the endless cycle of the Earth.

So let us not in fear be drowned,
For in death, life's meaning is found,
A part of all, and all of one,
In death, our journey has just begun.
