Liz's pov

Olivia- where are you??

Leah- tick tock Liz

Olivia- we've been waiting forever

Mia- dramatic ass but it has been twenty minutes

I bit my lip looking up from my friend group chat to the amount of cars packed in the school's parking lot.

I took a picture and send it.

Me- it's not me it's this fucking traffic

Mia- who'd have thought that a school filled with rich preppy kids would have a problem with traffic

I snorted and rolled my eyes.

Me- sarcasm isn't cute

Mia- being late isn't cute

I mean she was right but I'm stuck in this stupid parking lot traffic with no place to go.

After a good five minutes I was finally released. I pressed down on the gas and drove straight to the part of town my parents aren't very fond of me spending so much time at.

I quickly switched my loafers for crocs before running into the building. I think I accidentally pushed down at least twelve people.

"FINALLY!" Mia was the first to greet my presence as I stumbled through the chipped white door.

I cringed, "Sorry sorry. What'd I miss?"

Leah stood and everyone followed. "Nothing much. We were just waiting for you to come so we could go to the roof."

I nodded and followed them.

Leah, Olivia, Mia and I were all different. We all came from different backgrounds and had different stories but we were all each other had.

"When are they going to fix this crappy elevator?" Olivia grumbled as we all piled in said elevator.

Olivia was Italian. She had long brunette hair, very cute bushy eyebrows and she always had on red lipstick on her plump lips. She was the musician of the group. Always lively and had something to sing.

Mia snorted leaning beside me, "Probably fucking never."

Mia was the free spirit of the group. She was Hispanic. She had shoulder length hair that seemed to grow so fast that she had to cut her hair every week, she had a cute nose that I was slightly envious of and unlike Olivia's fake red lips hers looked natural.

The elevator dinged and we all piled out and immediately walked to the edge where we normally sat.

"Light?" Leah asked.

I nodded and dug through my blazer to hand her my lighter.

Leah was the cook of the group. The only cook and the only white one (if you don't consider Italians white). She had long, wavy, dirty blonde hair, a medium busy brow, a Greek nose and slightly thinner lips than all of us.

I on the other hand was the reader, writer, basically anything fiction of the group. I was mix, half black half white. I'm not sure if I'm as pretty as the other girls but they always complimented my hair, my light skin and pink lips so I guess I looked okay enough.

I laid back on the hard concrete as we allowed smoke and silence to surround us.

"Are you sleeping over today?" Olivia asked. I looked over to her seeing she was looking at Mia, who was just staring into space.
