Mia's POV

"Take a picture of me!" I asked as an idea popped up in my head.

Liv hummed and took my phone. I ran over to the cardboard on the floor and sat on it to pose for the camera.

She took the picture and I spung to my feet to look at it.

I smiled and turned it to the others who were standing and watching

I smiled and turned it to the others who were standing and watching. "Me," I chuckled.

All I got in return was confusion. I rolled my eyes and explained it to them, "Because I'm homeless. I don't exactly have a home."

"That's not funny," Leah grumbled turning to continue our walk through the street.

I shrugged tagging behind, "Kinda is."

I looked around as we fell quiet. Everything during the night was pretty. A type of pretty that I think only mentally unstable persons found comfort in.

It reminded us of what we feel like. The world just feels colourless and dark. Just like night times.

Liv turned and handed me the cigarette. I thanked her quietly and inhaled. The taste of the nicotine made me feel more relaxed.

Relaxation. Something I need after such a long week. Mrs Kanes kept me back basically every day. She claims this year my record has to be only straight A's.

I love her but fuck was she tiring.

"What are you thinking about?" Liz asked.

I looked from the starry night to the cute biracial girl. I shrugged, "Just how pretty night time is."

She nodded in agreement, "'The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets,' by unknown."

I hummed, "look at you smarty pants."

She grinned showing her white teeth before taking the cigarette. I'm not sure how we even became close friends with Liz. All I know is that Leah was involved... I think.

"This was my last week of crappy public education," Liv said her head bent back to look at all the stars.

"Going to miss it?" Leah asked taking the cigarette from Liz.

I watched as Liv shrugged, "I mean kinda. I did grew up in it. However though I am excited about my future."

She got into the same school as Liz. To say I was proud of her was an understatement. She's one step closer to her dream. The thought of that made my insides warm.

"Congrats," I smiled pulling her hair a bit.

She smiled and looked over to Liz who was already looking at her with a smile. I frowned. Something was definitely going on between them whether they knew it or not.

Actually they might not know of it considering they've had some serious tension for months. Actually maybe they do know. A few days ago I accidentally glanced into Olivia's music book and saw that she was working on 'Eli'. My assumption is that it's short for Elizabeth.
