Chapter 4: Whuh-Oh! Trouble In Paradise!

A few moments of silence for the chandelier.

From the way it looks, I could tell that it was very long lasting until today. Looks really expensive as well. I pray for Mr. Crowley's pockets- not only is he gonna have to buy a magic crystal, he's gonna have to buy a chandelier as replacement for this one.

I slowly walk towards the chandelier to take a further look. 90% of it isn't damaged, thankfully, though I can't say the same for the chains that used to hold it up, the table that cushioned the fall, or the supposed cracked, already dimming magic crystal.

The overall situation is-

"Well, shit."

It was then that Mr. Crowley breaks the silence by screaming. "Just what... exactly... ARE YOU ALL DOING?!"

"So... recap." In the Hall of Mirrors, I stare at the two boys, holding the cat monster- who was named Grim -close to my chest so he doesn't escape from the consequences of his actions. "Ace Trappola. You were chilling, being calm because the first day of school just ended."

"Yep."

"When all of a sudden, this little bastard-" I raise Grim up. "-decides to sneak back in, and accidentally causes a fire to a trashcan near the entrance gate where the statues were with his flaming hot ears."

"Hey!"

"Yep."

"You know said little bastard, and who doesn't? It's the same little bastard that started the fires the entrance ceremony. So you get this magnificent idea- you want to make fun of this little bastard."

"Yep."

"So you do exactly that, and he shoots fire at you. You deflect with wind magic, and everything starts. You chase this rascal down the halls, causing Deuce Spade here to be dragged along with you."

"Yes, that's me, sir." Deuce, at least, has the decency to look ashamed. Ace, on the other hand, is looking away.

And also, "sir"- they call me that because I'm a staff member, and they don't know I'm a girl.

"Right. So then the two of you corner the rascal. Problem is, he somehow got onto the chandelier. And this is where Deuce comes in- he lifts you up using his magic, aims you at the cat and throws you high away."

"I'm not a cat!"

"Yes, yes, now shush- you and the cat collide and go down, the chandelier going with the both of you- KO! That's when me and the headmaster come in, and the rest is history."

"Yep."

"So now, you two have to head to Dwarfs' Mine through the Dark Mirror and get a replacement for the magic crystal in order to make up for the damage and cancel out your expulsions. In a night."

"Yep."

"Yes."

"Then why are you going with? And why am I being brought with?" Grim asks, looking up at me.

"Because you," I poke at the furry marauder's forehead. "need to learn that if you want to be the greatest magician in the world, you have to fix your mistakes, literally and figuratively."

"And because I," I gesture to myself. "am bored. And it's dangerous to go outside the campus at these hours without a trusted staff member or teacher with you."
