Chapter 13: Who Put Boss Battles In My Wizarding School Experience?!

"Student Riddle Rosehearts, enough is enough. Dragging this out any further will leave you isolated from the rest of Heartslabyul, if not the whole of NRC. For the sake of your own good, I command to you stop this farce immediately!" I say as I point my cane towards Riddle.

We are immediately surrounded with a silence so thick you could cut it with a cake knife. I could feel Mr. Crowley, Trey, Cater, Ace and Deuce stare at me with wide eyes. "Yuu, you..."

Grim is grinning pumping his fist into the air. "Hell yeah! That's my henchman, everybody!"

As much as I would like to correct his language, this isn't the time. This situation is going way too far. If it doesn't go under control, it will no doubt worsen. That much is obvious. Someone has to step up, and here I am. Maybe, if faced with someone with strength far beyond his own, Riddle would listen and calm down.

Unfortunately, Riddle is a student of NRC, and the students of NRC, according to Mr. Crowley the NRC headmaster himself, are, to put it simply,

Troublesome to deal with.

And from what I've experienced in the short time I know Riddle, even more troublesome to get through with words.

"You..." He raises his staff at me and yells. "...To foolishly go up against me like this, a useless, magicless person like you holds no right to correct me! [OFF WITH YOUR HEAD]!"

The spell is fired at me, but that's okay- I can just slash away the spell anyway-

"[Doodle Suit]!"

As soon as the spell reaches me, it explodes into playing cards. They land at my feet, a queen of hearts card landing at the tip of my shoes. At the same time, the collars on Ace, Deuce, and Grim's necks vanish into playing cards as well, much to their confusion. "Huh?! Our collars came off and turned into cards!"

The only one who's [Unique Magic] is capable of turning collars into cards is...

"...Trey." I look at the green-haired third-year who had come to my side, pointing his magic pen at where Riddle's [Unique Magic] was. "You didn't have to do that."

"And yet I did." He doesn't waver, even as Riddle's shocked and hurt eyes meet his. "My [Unique Magic] might only last for a moment, but it is capable of rewriting any component of something. And that's why..."

"I can override Riddle's magic with mine right now."

"Seriously?!" Cater says, surprised. "That's one hell of a cheat!"

"Riddle, please stop." Trey talks to Riddle, trying to get through to him. "I don't want to go against you, but if this continues then-"

"Trey." He flinches at the sound of his name coming from Riddle's mouth. "Your magic... rewrote mine...? Are you saying that your magic far surpasses my own...?"

"No, of course it doesn't-"

"Riddle." I take back control of the conversation, cutting Trey off. There's no doubt that Trey isn't mentally strong enough to confront Riddle when he's like this. "Listen to me. Look around you- you're causing fear among the students of Heartslabyul. I'm not joking when I say that dragging this out is going to leave you isolated. Please, calm down. We can talk this out."
