Chapter 10: 🎵And Nothing Can Go Wrong~!🎵

After making another run back to store to buy eggs, we went back to the cafeteria kitchen, where Ace, Trey, and Grim were waiting. Ace looks up. "Oh, you guys finally back from buying the ingredients! You two sure took a while."

"Sorry, we ran into some difficulties along the way." I apologize, glancing at Deuce to make sure he was still okay from the shock of finding out chicks don't always come from eggs and that chocolate milk doesn't come from chocolate cows. Sure enough, he was still stunned. "There were a lot of students on the way going back and forth from the store, it was kinda crowded."

"Well, it is afterschool hours. A lot of students like to walk around during that time." Trey takes the bags of groceries from us, smiling. "Thanks for getting these."

"You're welcome."

"Now, let's finish this tart up!"

"Add the finishing touch of marron glacé aaaaand... finished!" The mont blanc tart was finished, and it looked tasty. A tart filled, decorated, and topped with delicious chestnuts. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't drooling along with Grim.

"Finished..." Deuce is still shocked. Was the revelation that world shattering? Then again, he did say that he believed in those lies for his whole life. Poor guy.

Ace nudges me on the side, whispering. "What's up with him? Did something happen while you guys were out shopping for groceries?"

"Oh..." I look at Deuce, who still mumbling, and turn back to Ace. "He just made some very big discoveries today, so let's not disturb him."

"I... okay???"

"Eggs... don't turn... into chicks... and chocolate milk... doesn't come... from chocolate cows... chocolate cows don't exist..." Oh Deuce, you poor baby. You'll get over it soon.

The cafeteria kitchen's door opens, and in comes... "Cay-Cay!"

"Yuu-Yuu~!" Cater smiles, and we hug each other. I hear something similar was a sound of grumbles from behind, but that was probably just Grim's stomach growling. "What's up?"

"We just finished making the mont blanc tart!"

Cater smiles. "Eh, is that so? Good to know everyone's working hard!"

I nod happily. "Yep! We had fun!" I could've sworn I heard a tiny squeal of "so cute!" come out of Cater's mouth, but I dismiss it as he pats me on the head.

"We were just finishing up, actually." Trey walks to me side with the mont blanc in his hands, slowly pulling me away from Cater by the waist. Cater places full attention on the tart. "Ooh, it's looks super cute~! Hey, can I post it? It's super Magicammable!"

"Sure thing."

Cater smiles and take a picture of the tart. "Thanks, Trey~"

Soon enough, we were all seated at the kitchen table, and Trey places a copy of the mont blanc tart we made, serving us slices. "Yuu, I actually prepared one tart before you guys came in, so help yourselves."

"Oh, thank you."

"Woo-hoo~!" Cater and Grim cheer. "Time to dig in~!"

Ace looks at Cater, judging him. "It's way too convenient for you to show up just as we finished making the tart..."

We all take our forks, digging into our tart slices, and eat them. My and Grim's eyes widen in delight at the taste of the tart.

"Delicious~!" I keep digging into the tart while still eating at a good pace- Miss Himeko always tells me to slow down while I'm eating food or I'll choke -while Grim gives his commentary. "It isn't too sweet, and the tart's paste has richness to it! It feels like my mouth is running through a field of chestnuts~!"
